Has Anything Interesting Happened?

Well, not really. I thought a hand would get interesting when Paul Newman just limped in in mid position and saw a Two Clubs with blinds Steve Jelinek and Colin Young, but as it turned out they all checked and Young took the pot with a 100k bet on the turn.

The rather talkative Hassan Irfan has I think not quite been given a warning but gently upbraided by the TD for, I believe, trying to hurry someone into calling an all-in raise (the person in question folded in the end).

At one point Lawrence Gosney piped up, "We're all pals, why don't we take 11 grand each and go home?" which elicited some laughter at the rail but I believe he was very serious about it. Bit my tongue not to express my approval of this plan. Said Hassan, "If it'll shut you up, I'll do it." Gosney fell silent, but it's No Deal and the game continues.

finding that difficult to believe unless he is super short and fancies making a killer deal!

Paul Newman, playing about 260k, limps for 30k UTG. Lawrence Gosney folds, muttering to someone behind him about being dealt a deuce every other hand. Hassan Irfan waits about 10 seconds, before slowly putting on his shades to look at his cards for about a minute. He eventually folds and uses another half a minute to take his shades off again.

Steve Jelinek folds sharpish. Colin Young thinks about limping for a minute, he then asks for a count of Newman's chips which is about 230k back. He then thinks for another minute and then folds. Beattie limps in the small blind and then instantly Doc moves all-in from the big blind. Newman folds, and so does Beattie.

Five minutes of my life I'm not getting back.

Frazier Beattie moves all-in and Doc moves in behind.

Beattie:
Doc:

(Irfan calls for a deuce bizarrely)

Frazier Beattie is OUT in 7th winning £3,313

Yes!

Paul Newman shoved from the button and small blind Lawrence Gosney folded. Said Hassan Irfan in the big blind, "You're playing with FIRE! Actually I don't know what I've got. Hope it's something good."

He looked at his cards.

"I call."

Newman:
Irfan:

Board: three clubs two spades

Thus Paul Newman is our 6th place finisher winning £4,259!

Hometime creeps ever closer! Commiserations, Newman fans, it was a cool hand but not cool enough. That was some dance, kid.

Not sure what's up with Colin. Or the railers.
