Problem is and always has been the timing of the vote- if this vote was taken when it should be- in April I think Gerrard would have probably pipped Vidic.

That being said I'm glad Giggs has won it- probably should have won it earlier in his career.

It's been a poor quality season imo- no team/player has stood out. I think next year will be interesting. I can't see Liverpool mounting a chalenge again.

TBH I think Gerrard and Torres have been the best players by a country mile uptil now.

Torres has missed too many games.  Oh, that shouldn't rule him out though should it?

fairlly sure he's done more than Giggs

This.

Even the msot ardent Liverpool fan will acknowledge that both Giggs and Scholes are consummate professionals who are amongst the best to have played in the Premiership (since football began, ldo).  But player of the year?

Footie fans have short memories - that shouldn't matter as its voted by the players.
I don't think it's a mockery, agree or disagree at the time of voting Giggs is the player that most players thought was having the best season

Which is like asking poker players who is the best player they've played against this year.  That wouldn't be subjective at all would it?

I would have had little to moan about had Vidic won it. I'd have taken the piss about Torres tearing him a new arsehole at Old Trafford but the award would have been close to the mark if not directly on it.

Vidic had a bad game against a forward who is unplayable on his day.  Much the same as Henry did to Carragher on a couple of occasions.  It happens.  Yes, for the rest of the season he's been much more like the player of the season than Giggs.

Yes it's long, and no, ABUs won't like it, so probably won't get past the first paragraph.

It's so tilting that these thick bastards, his fellow professionals, appreciated what he has achieved in his career and voted for Giggs for an award that isn't really applicable to him.
