hi all. i played on pkr for a while now just small stakes  love the site and play mainly for fun. they just made 6 players pkr pros. i was reading they forum earlier and came across this thread .  one of they new pros threaten to break a players jaw because his ak  didnt beat 10 10.  forgeting the cards is this any way for a pro to behave,  pkr seem to think it ok to behave like this.  they keep shutting threads and say it common place in poker to threaten and engage in violence. i may be wrong but surely this cant be true. any way any oppinions  i be interested to hear.

Totally standard in poker mate. When i lose an all in hand i usually wrap a chair round my opponents head unless he has properly sucked out then i normally stab him multiple times.

id be pretty disappointed if the pro;s didnt threathen people tbf.
A pre-requosite for being a pro thesedays is exeptional keyboard warrior, threatening skills.
It stops people raising their blinds and can make people fold huge hands preflop, due to the sheer feer of
being struck with a barrage of abuse in the chat box. Alas, telling people merely to get aids or fk off, just won't
surfice thesedays.

i was talking about online. Live is a whole different kettle of fish.
If u do venture into the live colloseum, then you may meet dubai, who holds chips out near the line when you go to bet.
This is very intimidating and can force many a player into early retirement, please approch the live scene with the uptmost caution.

I don't really get this tbh.

Did he act like a dick after the hand? Yes.

Is that right? No.

On the PKR thread, James did apologise wholeheartedly for his action, admitted he was tilted up, thought u were going south etc.

He was out of order, but given the vast array of positive character references from people, it would seem it is out of character. If he made a habit of this thing then he would deserve condemnation but as a rarity, we should all be excused blow-ups now and again. Part of being human.

I couldn't read all the pages of the thread as I was about to tilt if I read one more results-orientated, dead money kipper say "he only had ace high" but you did say this "I accept his apology and won't comment on this further."

Why have you posted again then?

thanks jungle.  but it wasn't me in the hand. i can only dream of playing those stakes. i just came across the thread and was shocked that a PKR sponsored pro would behave like this on the site he represents. and then even more shocked when PKR staff defended him by  saying  full tilt,  pokerstars pros behave in exactly the same way on they sites. if he was an indiepent pro i understand but what sort of image does this send out about PkR standards. they provide themselves on being the closest friendliest site online.

This is such a joke, even if you are an asshole then you should pretend not to be when representing a business jeebus.

And also another lol at how that hand was played, I actually downloaded PKR for the crack the other day and see they have some semi decent games going.

The most violent and outspoken keyboard warriors would just stand up and leave the casino quietly if they lost in a live game. When they got home they would prob shout at their parents or rip a poster off the wall.

sorry misunderstood. Assumed it was you. Feel free to break my jaw loll.

He's obviously pretty stupid to say what he did. Also you are right that PKR shouldn't be semi-justifying it by saying inflammatory shit like fights happen all the time in poker. Whoever the jabba pkr mod guy is on the forums, he should prob be given a couple of quick lessons in diplomacy.

Also don't worry about playing live. It's been a long time since I saw a fight in a casinio of any note. You're far more likely to get in a fight at your local boozer.

And yeh that hand is horribly played. Even Alex Martin would beat those players if that hand is typical.

Clearly you don't play often enough at Luton.
