only way to stop this happening is to get people to pay non-refundable deposits. I would imagine that most people who put their name down wanted to go, but times are tough. I can't really afford to come along tbh, and if I hadn't already pre-paid for the hotel I'd be staying at home too this weekend.  There's still a good chunk coming along though, and I'm sure we can manage the bar takings of 150 normal punters.

List has 131 people on it so if thats up to date thats just under capacity.I don't think thats a bad turnout imo,also very unlikely the casino are going to complain when they'll make more money this weekend than most other weekends this year.I agree it's poor form if people just pull out for no reason late on but otherwise i would be suprised if tighty was unhappy ?

reckon we'll be at 80-90 Mond. Of the 131 I'd put my house on 40 or so not showing, same at every bash. There are a good 20 on there I know won't show but haven't told me either way.

list isnt upto date as tighty cant keep up with the pull outs there are also several names on there of people who have no plans to be there and havent logged in for weeks and a few who have posted there plans to be at other events this weekend who havent told tighty they wont be at the bash

there will be 2 maybe 3 mods playing not sure if curtis will be as he has a little one now and its not fair for us to expect him to leave sophie and the baby for a day on the lash so the blonde bash will be the 2nd smallest and will only have properly myself and tighty as the only mods playing and making sure everything runs smoothly

I didn't even know about this til 4-5hrs after the original announcement. Joobs put our names down 2 hrs after and we're 30-odd on the original list. People put their names down before they do their research because if they don't, they run the risk of not getting a seat.

Also, every previous blonde bash has been announced 6-8 weeks (at the most) before the event itself. This one was announced over 4 months beforehand and I can't help but wonder if this has had an adverse effect on the number of people who have pulled out.

On top of this, as tikay and others have alluded to a few times recently, the forum has "changed" recently (without going off tangent) and this may be the reason why people are pulling out and giving dubious reasons.

Tighty and the team do a great job and the last thing I want to see is this being the last bash...hopefully this is a blip on the radar and the next bash will have better numbers.

And here I go with me own tuppence worth.  Don't know if anyone else has noticed it, but seems to me there's been a nice kind of buzz around the forum for the past few days.  The 100 or so who ARE going are really looking forward to it.  Yes it's a shame that some can't make it.  There's a good few who will be missed and I'm sorry I won't get a chance to catch up proper with them.  BUT - that's not to say we won't have a GREAT time!  

I'm just not sure now is the time to be moaning about who isn't going, when so many have made the effort TO go.  We can harp on the negatives (if there are any - and there haven't been at any other bash I've been to) when we get back...if needed.  No?    

Tighty worked his tail off to organise this and I'm sure there will be plenty of bash 'old-timers' who know the routine and will help throughout the week-end if needed.  Don't sweat it Tighty...you'll have all the help you need.  And thanks for all the work you've put in too Mr. Man!
