£150 buy in tourn
11 left on 2 tables. 5 get paid

I am just under avge with 20k, blinds 500 1000
BB is on about 10k

UTG limps, he has about 26k

I have AJ on the button and raise it to 6k

BB shoves, not too worried about him as he has shoved a couple of times already.

UTG then thinks and instead of issolating, just flats the BB shove. So I am in for 6k, with 15k behind. What should i do?
I hate letting myself get too short so would normally go for it but UTG has thrown me

What hands has the BB shown before??

i would fold mate

once utg has called 10k he is not going to fold if you push i put him on 66/99

i take it the blinds are only 1000/2000??  you have 8bb left and your in the fanal table if utg wins

your raising waaaay too much pre m8, make it like 3/3.5k with one limper. Then you've got an easier decision.

Wasnt worried about BB, but couldnt figure out why UTG had just flatted, was screaming big hand to me.
I folded, leaving myself about 14 big blinds, BB had KQ and UTG had AT ffs

I think it was the correct fold based on the info pre but seriously annoying when the info has been provided by someone making a complete cows arse of the hand.

Flatting 10k pre with only 27k to start with, wth only AT, with me left to act. WTF was he thinking

Sigh, just wanted to see if all thought it was a fold, cheers

have a plan when you make any action!

if it folds to utg after ur 6x and he shoves what was ur plan? hopefully to call?

pfr size is way to big aswell 3500 is fine here.  give urself some depth down the streets.

UTG starts with 26k and when the action gets back to him there's like 16.5k in the pot. Why does he need to slow play a monster now? He's limped hoping for some kind of action and he's got raise/re-raise all-in for his troubles. Excellent. Surely he just jams a big hand.

ur getting over 6-1 to call

so  i would call here

but normally i would raise less pre

but i think ur commited to see a flop atleast
or even shove (veery spewy imOO)
i no u will put half your stack but 6-1!!!

I have just ran the odds and even if you put UTG on KK you still have 28% equity in the hand. You are only dead to 1 hand (AA) to which you have 6% equity

Therefore although it is pretty sick - getting 6:1 you have to go with your hand. Given this is 'live poker' - i ship all my chips in just incase he folds (with 16k behind) - why not you did!!!!  Wink (although card room dependant you probably cant move all in here as it will be an underraise, but lets remove that from this example for now).

obv raise less pre and you have less of a decission

LeKnave makes the most important point here - always have a plan. I you decided that bumpin git up to 6k is the correct decission - then do it knowing you are committing yourself to the pot. If you think you want to be able to get away from the hand - then 3.5k works
