With your attitude I would steer clear of going on any diets. You will feel restricted by it and penalised by it so will fall off the wagon quickly. At your weight and with gym sessions you can shed pounds very quickly if you change your eating habits just a little bit. Wheel your cab into any 24hr Tesco and pick up a cooked chicken from the deli. You can scoff that whole hot chicken bud and it's cool. Or stop off at a chippy and get a chicken salad kebab. Eat fruit and fig rolls on the move. Drink plenty of water. Very easy to make simple changes that wont constitute a diet and these changes will be sustainable and long term. So lets gogogogo.

I don't want to get too personal but I think it is girgys mental attachment to the food an no doubt his sugar cycle that is the main problem! The advantage of a diet would be learning about these things. That said i do agree with mantis too.

One thing is for sure is that there is some rock solid advice in this thread. Girgy, you just need to provide the motivation and I'm sure there will be loads of people right behind you on here!

Motivation
GOALS
Then do some reading about it all

Know a taxi driver that carries a couple of bowls/spoons etc around with him, couple of boxes of different cereals, you must pass 100's of shops a day, make a point a stopping on your 1st trip, buy a small milk, pullover whenever you have 10 minutes, not glamarous but it will fall off.

Gym done! 4.00km in 41 minutes burning 499 calories! Did 2 mile in under 30 minutes today and then took it steady for the last 10 as I don't wanna aggravate my calf again.

On way home bought a full chicken from morrisons. Demolished half of it just now with 1/2 tub of cottage cheese.

Packed the rest up with the cottage cheese for my tea at work tonight!!

Feelin goooood!!

I am not gonna preach at you, as I have been in your position for many years, I know how hard it is - but I can tell you it is possible.  I can't lie to you, it is hard and takes some sacrifice but on Jan 3rd I changed my lifestyle to a huge degree and have lost 4 st since, 5 inches off my waist and can walk from my car to the office without panting when I get there.

I have a long way to go and some days it is really hard, and I am not losing at anywhere near the rate I was, but I am still losing.  The details in the last couple of pages are about spot on for what I have done - simple diet, more exercise (not loads and less then you are doing now tbh), and I have just avoided takeaways and drink.

I can't believe Walkers have not gone bust, or KFC and Coca-Cola issued a profit warning due to the loss of my custom but I knew and have always known that I had to turn my back on these things if I wanted to make 40. 

Laz's death, Longy posting a before and after diet pictures, Red_Dogs daily weigh ins and the size of a T-Shirt I was given on a stag weekend all stunned me and inspired me to diet to a degree.  However at the end of the day I had to want to do it for myself, to improve my quality and hopefully longevity of my life - the people posting on this thread have your best interests at heart they are not taking the piss (well maybe Soviet  Wink) they are trying to help, and I can tell you the advice does work.

I can also tell you that I feel like a different person, to a degree I cannot explain.  I have a lust for life I had lost, and I didn't even know I had lost it.  I can't say I enjoy my diet, but I do get a kick out of it now in a sadistic way so its not all bad.

Good luck, keep trying, it is possible.
