Right so the great BH is going to give the has been that is PA an ass kicking on Thursday afternoon in Cardiff, the team is heading out in support the problem is this, we need more to gamble on.

As such the gauntlet has been laid down and there is now a match between the Rookle/Me and the evil forces that are Dave "i look just like that avatar of full tilt i could become a team full tilt pro and no-one would notice" Jones and of course Tom "hitthehole" Middleton.

Now the problem is we have fck all clue about where the good stripclubs are in Cardiff let alone golf clubs, so can someone point is in the direction of a good, friendly course.

Thankyou!

Celtic Manor?
The chance to play the Ryder Cup Course if you can get on at this short notice.

(what other sport gives the amateur that sort of opportunity?)

I've just had a look in my UK Golf Courses book and it appears that you have a choice of two.

Cardiff GC, or Panarth GC which overlooks the Channel.

Water hazards are probably a bad thing.

+1 to this.  There are a couple of great courses at the Celtic Manor.  Might be lucky to get a booking this short notice.  It's about a 25 min drive back down the motorway from Cardiff though.

What do you guys usually shoot?

Theres no point in playing st mellions if you cant break 100 since it is quite a long course for most people. You finish on two par fours at 437 and 464 yards.

My best recommendation, is dewstow golf club. It's not too far from Cardiff and I've played it a few times. It has two courses you can choose from, if you decide to go for the park course it boasts the UK's only par 6. It's great fun! The course is pretty immaculate all year round.

I know the yardage is about the same as st mellions, but excluding the par 6 on the park course at dewstow, it plays a lot shorter.

If you are happy to travel to play at Dewstow, then also consider St Pierre.

Not played it but heard good things. The newer course looks quite ideal for beginners with a nice mixture of short holes (admittedly, there are still some monster holes).

Dewstow is v hilly iirc, it's a good few years since I played it. It will be easier than Celtic Manor, but obviously lacks the cachet.

It's also further from Cardiff.

Where to finally recommend does depend on how good you are. if you struggle to break 100 then Caerleon has a 9 hole par-3.....

We want 18 holes. I normally shoot around 75-80 on a good day.

Demps shoots 90's and Mid and Jones have handicaps of 16 and 18 I think.

Then why the delay? Get yourself onto Celtic Manor with much haste.

Then when the Ryder Cup comes round you can say things like "I birdied this hole..." or "that putt is so tricky, it breaks both ways from back there..."

Did I mention that I once birdied the 14th at Birkdale?

4-iron to 6ft and drained the putt since you ask
