Try looking at your house with new eyes and then see what needs improving.

housework is a hobby?

She didn't say do it, just look at it.

Doh - not housework - DIY!

DIY is a hobby?

Round my gaff it's a necessity

I love the outdoors so almost any outdoor task is fine by me, except painting. I hate fkin painting, and I'm crap at it.

When I used to be my own mechanic, (back in the days when you could actually work on a car without the aid of a computer) I used to hate lying beneath them with the rain running up my nose, or trapping my fingers while they were frozen.

Talking of painting, my Grandad is/was a gamekeeper and every summer I helped to creosote the massive phesant rearing shed he had (it felt like it at the time, but probably around 30m by 6m), I hated doing that, not too mention my skin didn't take to kindly to flecks of creosote.  I was so glad when he bought a paint sprayer of sorts!

Yep. BTW- Creosote is outlawed now, too many toxins in it apparently.

Given poker a long break as I am getting v bored with it. Can anyone suggest any other hobby that i can really get myself into? I have gone through chess already which I loved. Any kind is fine. Thanks in advance.

How about fishkeeping?
Not the poker variety; I mean the little slippery - and oftern very colourful - sort  that can buy from your local aquarium shop.
It can be a most enjoyable hobby.
(says the bloke with 6 fish tanks in his house, and a pond!)

Painting the fence, sanding the floor or waxing the car were the only jobs I was interested in as a kid.

Already very sporty. play for my uni football team and a couple of 5 a side teams too. Regarding DIY etc, I live in rented accomodation so that's a nono. One thing that I think may be fun is bowls. Although it may be abit perculular for such a young lad to be playing amongst OAP's I do think it would be a rather satisfying sport to try and work out. Thoughts?

I often sit and watch the old fella's and ladies bowling when I'm out with the dog.

The green near me is really nice and I could sit there for hours just watching them play. It very relaxing.

Doesn't look an easy game though by any means and I'm sure it's very satisfying when you finally get it right.

Don't see many under 60's there though tbh. Just me and Ronnie in the spectator stand.
