what are the units? it's possible to have one + and one - if the 2 stats are not the same. e.g. if one is $/h and one is bb/h and you play at different levels

Both $/h

in which case I reckon you broke it

He probably just does not know how to interpret the results.

I don't know why he just does not ask.

I asked kin for some strat advice last night

pmsl

was an immense hh for discussion imo really going deep into the mind of a live fish....

in short, I order food it arrives, I go to flick my cards to fold and the chips on the cards flicks into the pot, so i've limped, every one laughs at me and my obvious disgust of my hand, Sad  I see guy pick up chips in sb as rest of table is deciding which combo of chips to put £2 into the pot with. I just lob my 2 into the middle and open muck and start impersonating Tom. ofc limped 8 way pot I would have flopped trips . Kin said 'you play bad' sigh......

I asked alice for you, turns out there is no explanation

Human: red-dog has a positive overall win rate per hour but a negative average win rate, how can this be?
ALICE: Where did he get it?
Human: the hm poker diary
ALICE: I hear you.
Human: great, so what's the answer?
ALICE: Thanks for your support. I hear you. The answer is the correct reply to the question.
Human: any idea what that correct reply might be?
ALICE: No I don't think there are any.
Human: thanks, I'll let him know
ALICE: You are quite welcome! How do you plan to do this?
Human: I'm going to post the content of this chat on the thread he started on blonde
ALICE: I am very happy for you.

ALICE: That was a very smooth response.
Human: yeah thanks, so you're saying gatso's a liar?
ALICE: Yippee! You are quite welcome! Interesting deduction. Yes, that's what I mean, isn't it clear?
Human: he didnt talk to you about red dog's problem?
ALICE: What did he do?
Human: messed up the stats
ALICE: Who are you talking about?
Human: red dog
ALICE: I've never heard of them before.

lol its been explained twice how can you not get this.

I will try to make it v simple:

You play 10 hands at 10-20 NL and win $3000
You play 10 hands at 1-2NL and lose $2000

Now you have won 1k over 20 hands or $50/hand

Now in terms of blinds, you lost 1000BB @ 1 level and won 150bb@ the other level so lost 850bb/20 hands

Now your average bb is $11 so your average win rate is 11x-850/20 -$467.5

I have never used HEM.

I swear to God I don't get it.

The figures are per hour, not per hand.

Surely if I lose £10 per hour for 9 hours, and then win £100 in the last hour, that would mean that over 10 hours I lost £90, but won £100, so made a profit of £10, or, an average of + £1 per hour.

Ok fine take out where i said hands and put in hours.

You won MONEY, but you lost BLINDS.

A player who loses x amount of big blinds over time but wins money is called running good, your overall a losing player but you happened to lose in the small game and win the big game, over time when all of it levels off you will lose money as well.
