I reckon it's the Notting Hill "race-riots" in the 1960's.

No - that model of Ice-Cream Van was not available in the 60's.

I have a book about the history of Ice-Cream Vans.

"Stop me & Buy One."

First edition and signed by the author naturally.

You must remember the Walls Ice-Cream bicycles, Ralph?

Has to be preparations for the Coronation, 52 or 53.

We had a GREAT street party.

Wrong on both counts.

EDIT: You're probably right about your street party.

Bugger.

preparation for her actual crowning ceremony which actually took place in 1953?

Thought it was quite obvious they were wax models tbh.

Lies - that's just the Queen going for a haircut at Tony & Guy and the hairdresser is taking her hat off so he can get cracking with the shampoo.

Simples. They simply have to "cap" the well, but the snag is that the well is gushing oil & flames at colossal pressure. They do not, & cannot, put the fire "out", they just damp it down to help facilitate the capping of the well. Well capped = fire exstinguished.

Slipping a bit here old yin.

Whilst they can cap, which deprives the blaze of oxygen and eliminates flame, for the larger ones they actually "blow out" the flames by creating a larger explosion, much the same as we blow out candles with a large breath of air.
