I still don't understand the foreign student rules we have. You can apply to study here and after a certain number of years apply to stay? I have 2 clients who are mature students - studying for studying sake - neither of them want their degree, they are just doing it for permanent entry into the country. They are nice people and all that but it's all bit backdoor imo. You must work for the daily mail making up stories like that? Lol! I'm only going on what they told me - that after they have studied here for long enough they can apply for residency - so I'm asking is that possible?

Don't think anyone suggested the story was 'all made up'. clearly the guy was allowed to stay in the country following an appeal. The bit people had issue with was the right-wing press reporting that the decision had been made based on the fact that the guy had a cat, which is clearly bollocks.

Sickening drivel. What's worse is that some will believe it.
