I will try to keep this simple, i need a ruling on no limit holdem please.

looking at the example below what is the legal minimum raise that can be made ?

SB 500
BB 1000

Next to Act Raises To 2500

What can the next person to act raise to (minimum)

Is it 5000 (double the total) ?

Or

5500 (double the raise + the original bet)

Hope this makes sense but im having several arguments over who is right ?

4,000 (twice the raise amount of 1,500)

he has raised 1,500 so you can make it 1,500 more

4k in most places (2500 plus 1500 which was the last raise)

5k in ireland and a few uk places and some tv tournies

thank you i appreciate your help.

to summarise:

you are only raising the raise amount always and never the total bet

and if it was reraised for example by 3000 the next person would reraise a minimum of the same again

If you're playing no limit then 4,000.

Anyone who says different is simply wrong. And I don't care if it's in Ireland or not. They're wrong.
