I wouldn't have walked out tbh. An overlay is an overlay and with my commercial hat on I would have loved to have played this. This is the first time I've heard poker players be righteous about added value.

Think a couple were just worried about getting muppetted by those free rolling. BTW those free rolling had TEN per cent of themselves

Props to eames. Man of his principles. All me Perrins and cody I think it was could think of was the edge and +EV. I was thinking about backing out but with backers involved I couldn't make that decision. The casino really have shot themselves in the foot. Cant see them running another successful festival. People just have so much choice now and with stars and Grosvenor running a tour and DTD running some stella events it could be gg broadway

wtf, Eames wanting to back out of a live event, and perrins/cody a.) turning up to 1 and b.) actually playing? this is surely a level

this is such a shame, their festival earlier this year was really good and it's a really nice casino, but this is awful

Yeah, it's a big that this might all mean that it's the last significant festival (and definitely the last guarantee!) that they will ever hold at the Broadway.

can i chime in and say that middy, mccool and myself had dinner in the restuarant, and it was the worst meal i have had in a casino or any restuarant in my life. The service was truly shocking, just glad mick lost the flip. I went for dinner there the last time i was there and it was really nice. i wont be going back.

Meh i am the only one who seems to think although this is borderline i dont see a problem with a casino padding the field if they have stuck on a gtd prizepool.

I would have been pissed its taken away equity but they still added a load so what diff.

Really? The anarchy created by any accuations that Team Broadway players are colluding/chip-dumping would spell the end of a fair game imo.

So you have no issue with the fact that the Broadway could have made a massive profit out of this, if the freerollers made enough money. Therefore it is in the Casino's interest to be bias in any rulings etc towards these players.

Yes beat me to it - there are vast opportunities for shenanagins - what about chip dumping by a 10% player to a genuine buyin who offers him 15% of any winnings thus trebling the 10%'s equity.

To be fair, when DTD had the big overlay recently many of us locals were telling the DTD staff to some of the spare dealers in and give them a cut, I don't think many of us would have had a problem with that as its already cost Rob a lot of cash to set the place up. I guess maybe people feel a bit differently because its a casino and they spend their lives relieving us of out hard earned cash.

I am sure a similar thing happened in one of the  St Martens Caribbean games I was in. They put in the dealers then.

Also the mentality and style of play of freerollers lessens the edge of better players who wont be able to exert pressure as effectively in certain situations and thus there will be more gamble/luck involved in the game. Most importantly though we don't get to see the casino feel pain and that would be a shame.

Broadway is a joke always has been always will be,(unless they change whos is running it all) from the non existent floor people that cant make rulings to the hideous under trained dealers, they cant organise any big events and are an embarrassment to the birmingham poker scene.

This should be the premier place in birmingham for comps and a variety of cash games for all levels from £1/1 to £25/50 comps from a tenner upto £100 regular
But no-one there has got a clue how to run a card room and more importantly a profit making card room. which they are so desperate for.

I havent been there since they let a regular player cheat and didnt say a word to him, me and and another were waiting for a ruling at showdown because of the lack of knowledge from the dealer (surprise, surprise) while we are waiting this player mucks our hands and the flop and tells the dealer to get on with it !
and the dealers does excactly that, i was shocked to the core

if that was a big comp i would of smashed a chair in his face, the floor came over and listened to my complaint and said nothing about it, and they wonder why players wont go there to play a grand comp

do yourselves a favour broadway, get some one in there that knows what they are doin
