I'd aim first if you're behind someone though - last thing you want to do is let them know you're there and have them turn around and kill you.
A silencer can help with that too. Lots of people just won't notice you if you don't make noise and appear on the radar.
A riot shield can help keep you alive long enough to learn the maps a bit too.
Problem with silencer is you can't have a scope and heartbeat and not having heartbeat is criminal!

Problem is people with Ninja and Silencers like to hunt you down
It depends on how you're playing the game but I rarely use a HBS and don't mind not using a scope. I actually hate ACOGs. I tend to get amongst the enemy and have close range battles. I use my ears a bit too (installing the game to the HDD is recommended, it makes a lot of a difference!)
The reason I suggest a silencer is it get buy you some time until you get confident in your ability to aim - I don't think a HBS will help there. No good hunting down an enemy and ambushing them if they can react and kill you.

I usually use ACR with Grenade Launcher and silencer, and obv the two perks tht mean i'm invisible to all. Silencer > HBS imo.
For maps like scrapyard, when you get an easy kill, ie, are right behind someone and they dont know, pull out your shotgun (i have the 1887's) and get 10 kills worth so you can go akimbo. Then you can bowl around on maps like scrapyard with two shottys knowing tht you wont be beaten in close range battle.
Ive just got to level 70 so started grinding the AK47 last night which seems pretty mev. Have unlocked all of SCAR and ACR, and also the nut sniper rifle. PP2000 used to be the nuts for me until i discovered akimbo 1887's!

What's the point of the guns getting better so you require less skill as you get more used to the game?
surely it should go the other way around to try to even up the fights abit. that and remove the 40 yard stab all together!

GG Akimbo 1887s, you had a nice run. They've been nerfed in the latest patch, they're just testing it on consoles before it gets rolled out.
Another fun class is to have Scavenger (or One Man Army), Danger Close, AR + Grenade Launcher, another Launcher as secondary and go round exploding people. Also means your kill streak rewards do 40% more damage!

I have got in to the habit of giving speeches before I press the button for nuke.
usually along the lines of " You have fought valiantly and it was my honour to fight alongside you, I take no pleasure in taking your lives but I feel we must endure the unendurable and make the ultimate sacrifice"
I usually get a few people pissed off by the end.
the M16 is a nobbing machine, Although my favorite is the m18 sniper rife, with a spas16 as alt weapon. I rend to have the silencer as a must, fast reload, coldblooded and ninja, so anyone with a thermal scope or a sensor can GFY, you wont find me !

You can't be serious, why are they getting rid of the 1887's?!
I like One man army, what is AR?

AR = Assault Rifle.
Not getting rid of them and they nerfed them once but made a mistake - they didn't alter 1887s with Akimbo and FMJ - if you only use Akimbo on it's own I doubt you'll see any difference.

They don't AK47 is one of the worst AR's however the 1887's do rock the world.
