hmmm, I'm not usually a Friday nighter, but Hannah's dad has just texted to say that his plans have changed for tonight so if I want to do anything she can stay there......

Not for me tonight, can't take any more punishment.

Anyone that is going, please keep an eye out for stray Sebs as you pull into the car park.

I so nearly mowed him down last night. I turned left, just before you turn right into the car park, and Seb* decided to cross the road without looking, obliviously spinning his keyring on a finger. Even after I put the brakes on and flashed he didn't notice me.

Sebs should be kept on a lead at all times imo.

*Sebs are for life, not just for Christmas

I love how Seb has his own personal railer now that he brings along. I want one.

That sounds like Seb's cousin? Jacket on, thick set dude? He's like a more hardcore version of Seb. Jim Nice But Dim maybe.

I can happily report that Seb has arrived in the card room apparently unscathed

I is home for an early bath after running my JJ straight into Mr Pham's A6 innit.  Early exit for young Sebastian also. Despite doubling up with K7 (and noting that he was favourite against his oppo's AQ), he departed soon after, getting unlucky when his flopped 2 pair failed to stand up.

Not many leaguers in attendance from what I could tell, but TFOP and China Mug both still in the running when I left.

So here I am still jealous of all you live players. What do I do to try and amuse myself. I know I will play Hi/Lo Omaha. Well there are twelve of us left in and just like Steve Harmison I haven't the faintest idea what I am doing..... I am not playing any poker tomorrow.

That's it, it's all over. It's a procession. Alexander is da dogs man. The future has ARRIVED and it likes drinking beer and winning games of chance on a consistent basis. Too good sir.
Another 15pts at what looked a quality-packed final table take him on to 4.44*, so prob through the four barrier even when this month's donksaments are added in.

Whilst all you serial losers were playing your usual 'last shortest' at the G, I wandered off to your favourite Home County of Berks for the opening of the new poker club in Maidenhead, TC's.

Nice little club, some of the 'usual suspects' hovering - looking for a soft touch, 'House Player' Jim McBride in attendance, a few first night quirks (quickly sorted)    .....       and £500 added by some unknown Skandie online site.

Good crowd of 76, fifty sovs F/O (no silly fifty peeeeeeeeeee on the juice) producing a prizepool of £4.3K (with the added Kroner), rookie dealer dealt, lovely chairs and tables (bumpers, cup-holders to have a dump in      .....      no splinters or chance of Luton G elbow in this gaffe), nice atmosphere.

Gazed round my first table - European Player of the Year 2000 two to my left   .....     no other apparent danger.

Started off steadily, but gave away initial gains to a Cruella DeVille lookalike local who refused to believe her nut straight was worse than my pocket pair.

Back to scrimping, EPoY2000 and I taking turns to send out the raiding parties - to get to the first break with a modest profit.

Onto the second table, which was full of play by those that couldn't    ....      AA held, cracked the Boots with the Bobbies (little did they know the power of the Lally), then called an all-in on the flop with second pair - telling the kid I'm behind, but there's too much in the pot to leave behind    ....     instant service on the turn (ahhhh the posh little internetgeeks from the Royal County really began to gnash their teeth).

Meandered through the rest of the comp with a good stack to the Final Table.

Some weird and wonderfully awful poker by the participants eventually left me H/U at a mere disadvantage of 7/1.

A Chumpesque shove with 10 8, and it was all over    .....       Loofah had to settle for £989!

A very nice club - I recommend attendance.

Anyone want to recount how they built Alex's prizepool last night     ....     but were home for News at Ten?
