  • If you want a game without luck....go play chess
  • What the other person does with their chips is their choice
  • Doesn't stop it hurting but we are all sado masochists anyway so we kind of like the pain
  • I always get more chips when I do something unexpected particularly against MDD who I know is so unlucky against me that I feel obliged to call
[/list]

Slumps come and slumps go. I was going through a bad spell a while back and sought advice from a wizened old gent. He told me if you lump it in and you are ahead, then do not worry because luck always turns and sure enough it did.... hope to see you smiling again soon....just not at my expense

Look, first of all Im really not the slightest bit interested in going over hands because we could be here for days, I have a a life to lead. However as the self proclaimed poker guru of luton (and everywhere else on the planet) has chirped up, I will waste ten minutes giving you and the readers of this fine forum the view from where I was sitting. Firstly I paid my £100 quid plus tax so I think that entitles me to spend the chips I bought EXACTLY how I see fit. secondly we are playing poker, it is not repeat, not an exact science or for that matter a science at all, there are those that will try and justify hands or different styles of play, you know the type "oh he's one dimensional" or "he's a shove monkey' or whatever inane phrase is on vogue at the time. Those of you who know me, know very well that I dont give a fat rats arse about getting beat it happens every time I play, I also dont care less about beating someone else in a pot, I dont give it a second thought, I certainly, dont start texting the world and its wife before I have started the car in the freaking car park.I have a problem with some bad habits in the game , slow rolling, etc etc etc .... and I may moan about that occasionally, but on the whole we accept the game for what it is dont we?

Back to the story, I had won a few pots and had about 10 or 11k from a starting stack of 8 I think? QQ had about 3200 less than me, To cut a long story short I flopped top pair nines and two diamonds, To be honest I like my hand, I know Im behind but so what, I had a busy week I was having fun, if I lose the pot I still have 3200 to recover? I like Poker, I was playing poker wasn't I ? The honourable member for St Neots tells us all that I have no idea about Pot odds? with respect I was cutting my teeth in the Vic, when the only cards he played with were the ones he stuck onto the wheels of his Raliegh pavemaster. On the final table I got beat three times By hands coming from behind including oddly enough a hand exactly like the one we are discussing, but hey thats poker.

In conclusion I think it was a great call, I got all the chips, job done, or am I missing the point?

Just for the record,I have won 3 and finished 3rd 7th and ninth out of 10 played. where would this leave me in your table? Oh no, I just remembered I am excluded because I wont ask the powers to be on the open forum.

Graham this is too good to let it go without a measured reply, I have a few things to do but will come back to you later today. I would of course prefer not  to enhance your growing reputation as somebody who talks absolute cods wallop and  has an opinion on everything that doesn't involve them, but as you want to take me on Im game.

I can't help feeling I'm owed an apology here. All I was doing was reporting the news from last night's tournament as it had been relayed to me. That's my job as the runner of the Blondeite league imo.
