Sigh, WSOPME.
Be good for the game though innit?
Instead of young dudes turning up at the rookie night wearing shades, ipod and baseball cap, they'd turn up wearing a market traders' apron and calling everyone 'darlin' or 'guvnor'. Much better. Monkey see monkey do. Ooh ooh.

In one way yes (5 finals from 5 events), but in another its very poor.
8th twice, 6th once and 5th twice means lots of near misses in terms of decent cashes and only a relatively modest profit. I somehow feel I could / should have done better in at least one of these!

Lucky made it a stunning five final tables on the spin last night. Nice one Mr McB.
He's now that close to the top nine it hurts.
Spoke to Nina last night and apparently they can't divulge how many everyone played 1 Jan-30 June because of data protection jobbie reasons. Apparently it takes a while to look up on the system anyway, as only certain tournaments counted for their Blue Square league thing. Not to be outdone, though, I'll keep trying to find a way.
Otherwise the parties in the T.Kay and D.Dell households will run well into the small hours...
On the up side, we've managed to avoid an in-depth tournament report from Sir Donksalot. Phew.

I finnd that quite hard to believe - not as in Nina is fibbing but as in the system is that incapable of pulling up individual names and it showing auto how many games they have played. You're not asking for a ist of everyone on the system, just the league mob who are OK with the info being pulled - so that's data protection covered surely?
Well done Lucky, keep going and crack that top spot

I decided I won't add my monthly total in until the end of the month. If I add in two now I'd drop out of the top nine and confidence would take a battering.

Friends of mine, whom I had beaten consistently when we were younger, had left me far behind, advancing to a plane I could not access no matter how many games I played, how many books I read, how many final table problems I worked on in bed at night.
I was like a well trained pianist who knows which notes to hit but can't make the music his own.
A brilliant player understands the game in a way he can never quite articulate; he analyses the board and knows how to improve his position before his brain can devise an explanation for the move.
I didn't have the instincts. Quitting the blonde league disappointed my fans but I wasn't sad about it. Poker became far more fun once I no longer had to worry about my blonde ranking.

Looks like nobody did nothing last night. The likes of Nirvana and Sir Donksalot would have been on bragging by now, so QED innit.

George Michael took down the 50-runner wookie tournament last night, with Edna also final tabling, yet again. No league players in evidence though.
