98 runners at luton tonight.

Really, what is so attractive about this tournament? I dont get it.

Text from sicilian, he has 14k, playing small ball & will change gears when he needs to.

Probably in the next half hour, 1st gear to 2nd gear etc as he leaves the car park. (copyright of pelhamoneliners.inc)

They sure had enough dealers to deal with the comp.

LOL. First there was Pellers chuckling away at Sir Donksalot's gags, now here I am chuckling away at Pellers' gags. It's gone full circle. Sort of.

It doesn't surprise me that this one has taken off. The Venetian's evening donkament pretty much doubled in popularity after they changed it from 6000 chips, 30-minute levels to 8000 chips, 20-minute levels.

The ability to be able to sit down, make a few speculative plays, lose, still have chips left and then gamble, gamble, gamble. Pit games are popular for a reason and this format taps into that mind set imo.

They sure had enough dealers to deal with the comp.

Self deal next week imo, it's the way forward (aka "it's cheep, like the budgie")

They charged £8 reg fee? Are you serious?

By the way, 98 runners tonight = only two players off being a double pointer for league purposes. UL anyone that cashes...

Winkie wants the lot, the WSOP fantasy comp and a point for not making the final table. By jingo he gets it though, tenth is good for one point.
Sir Donksalot was also present.

*If Rookie was still in the league, he'd be fined points for making the chairman look gullible. Sigh.

Yep, £5.50 for me too.

It was full with 90 runners when I got there at 8.45 (delayed by an accident on the M1).

Got in as 1st alternate a few minutes later.  8 alternates got in, but they had to turn a few away too.  They should plan for 100+ next week.

Humorous moment when one of the alternates got in and bust out very first hand with KK v AA  and got a round of applause from the whole room.

My good run came to an end when I flopped a straight and lost to a higher straight in a 3 way all in.

Well done to Claire who FT'd.
