Here's my summary...

Tooosday nite at Luton = R.I.P. imo.

Turned up last nite with Mrs Alien (she likes this tourney as she feels comfortable, and knows lots of the usual faces etc).

The good news is that - for the first time - it was dealer-dealt. HOORAH.

HOWEVER......the only reason for this woz BAD NEWZ, cos at the start there was a total of 14 of us!!!! Jeez. And I thought last Thursday was bad! It's not great when u and you misses make up 14% of the field !

Runners included.....Mr & Mrs Alien [obv], Mr & Mrs Tearle, Mr & Mrs Del & Toni (it woz like a couples nite innit), Diddly Tiddly, 7-stone Christophe, zero Sebs, some geezer wot's called Michael Bolton (are you serious?!?!?!)  + various other faces including the usual mixture of fishes and solids. Regulars Malcolm G and LimpAlot-John both walked out in disgust; heading towards Stanleys. No sign of Gotchy, but I guess he figured that one Rock Star headlining at the G woz enuff.

Cos they only had 14 at start, we're now restricted to 2 tables maximum (a stupid rule; why is that?!!!).

Following the start, the stragglers meandered in (well it's not like the tournament starts at 8.30 or anything). The 2 tables filled up fairly quickly. Amazing.

Then Ray Danks arrives. no seat. Then Snatty arrives. no seat. Plus a few more. All sit out waiting for a seat. Total runners by end of 90 mins woz 24.

I woz pretty much card-dead all nite so ended up playing all kinds of trash. Flopping 346 having raised UTG with 57 was the highlight. I did well as I managed to get to the final (LOL), and even survived to 7th which was an honourable achievement given the huge field (LOL....just LOL!).

Of course the huge £720 prize pool was only spread amongst the top 3, so obv I failed to cash, or score any bleedin' points [which doesn't matter anyway cos I'm not in the league].

Anyway, that woz it. No more Tuesday's for me; the misses will have to get the bus.

CYA Thursday for a proper tourney.

Wed 21st £50 DEEPSTACK No Limit Hold'em Freezeout 10,000pt 8.30pm
Thurs 22nd NEW - £40 No Limit Hold'em with £20 Rebuy 4,000pt 8.30pm

Tonight is a waste of time imo, unless you're happy making a final table where the average stack is five BBs. 2x30mins, then 20mins right through I think.
Tomorrow is unlimited rebuys at £20 a pop. Should get around 35 runners, fewer donks, better structure. 2x30mins then 25mins (not sure that's right though).

jim (welcome back btw) I am sure that your mates on here will warn u off Wednesday which is a £50 10k 20 minute clock donkfest, but wiv lots of runners
firsday is £40 for 4k, with £20 4k r-buys (2 levels) and 30 min clock; good structure imo

I disagree... I find the field is such that it's possible to chip up significantly throughout without running above expectation, and a little aggression in last 2 tables/final table goes a long way.



Plus you need to get down there so we can chat about Vegas.

So I didn't get to play yesterday and I am not sure that I was very polite to coco pops but there you go nobody is pleasant all the time.

What a night.
Table 7, seat 2.  I wander over, there are 2 players already sat there, John Fonseca in seat 1 and Avi in seat 3.  I should have carried on walking.  Turned out, they were 2 of the more reliable players.  Next we had a "1st time Live" player that was probably a "first time ever" player.  Then 2 women that were pressumably Avon Ladies judging by the amount of calls they liked to make.  Then the alternates trooped in, Mrs Phan and Future of Poker.

You couldn't make the hands up.  Perhaps the best one was a limpathon at 50-100 about 5 players, the dealer asks the BB if there is any raise, Mr 1st Time Ever in the Hijack decides it is a good idea and slings in a massive raise......

Now the best bit.  That was the good table.  it got broken up and I got moved to a worse one.  FML.  A few league-ers present, think it is safe to say none of them have a snowball's chance tonight.
