Nice little comp with a decent amount of play and chips

I quite enjoyed playing at Stanleys last night. James is always welcoming, and runs the card room in a nice manner, and he always goes round the tables to see if everyone want something to eat or drink, and is more than hospitable and helpful.

Meh... got dragged to the western last night by Celtic and Tfop...

made luton standard look world class... + open collusion at the tables... never seen anything like it once on the cash and once in the tournament people that knew each other having a go at each other for raising them or calling with shit.. with one dude saying we know each other ur supposed to check it down not bet..at the table !.. i kid u not..

Mmmmmmm, about sums up my old stamping ground - The Western - unfortunately    ....       the 'Marmite' poker venue of London.

These 'carry ons' disguise the fact that there are some very good players down there though (honestly)   ....       you've only gotta look at their track record in the £300 at DTD (2 wins, a second, and a fair few FT finishes) for example.

Not everyone's 'cup of tea' - but for a good old fashioned, loud, brash, night of poker the 'atmosphere' is unique - I would've thought Sellick would have felt right at home there    ..........

last time I played a 'regular' tournament at the western I got shouted and swore at by one of the mouthier young locals and general atmosphere was not good. Such a shame, as other than that it's a good place to play, nice food etc, and 10 mins down the road.

I agree Mr Weld On, their Tuesday £100 F/O is a fine Tourny (I better not brag how often I've won/chopped it/been placed etc)    ....       however the place can come as a bit of a culture shock to those used to playing cards at the local Library.

just to show that the future of poker is not the only player hotter than a Thai hookers wet bits on a 2 for 1 boom boom weekend special..

More tmmr including the Sicilian gets a legendary rubdown..... its worth waiting for kids..

So here we are. My worst ever start to a month. Played 4 and no points. Pathetic. Might as well give up and do something more rewarding with my time.  I do however have a question for the league elder. Does the APAT tourney at the G on the 21st count???
