What goes around comes around...

Because my well-played AQ had been cracked in such an obscene manner, Megadong took the no-pain option with the same hand UTG not long after.
With the blinds still at 100-200, Luton's finest Scotch player made it...1500!
This led to a weak player passing...ready for this...pocket tens!!!

I had to go for a walk to let my anger subside.

Innocent as charged. Correct Pass. Passing is an art form.

Not looking to be critical tikay, just interested in your thought process

Also don't know stack sizes

but how can 10 10 be a pass in most instances to MegaDongk raising 7.5x the bb utg?

So many reasons......

There is 1,800 in the middle, so I have to make it 4k, 4.5k, 5k ish. Or Flat, which I hate. Out of a 9k stack, early doors in a well-structured Tourney.

I felt he had A-K or A-Q, or even a well-disguised Premium Pair, & it was Keith Miller, who's likely - imo - to jam. I don't need a Race at this stage. Peeps play these things way too fast. IMO.

Let them win their individual little battles, I'm there for the long haul.

I can find far better spots.

I just never fancied it - sometimes the easy decision is the cheapest one.

Probz a bad play, but passing a difficult spot is never a problem, I like soft spots, easy decisions, orphaned pots. There's more than enough of those later on. The Table was playing daft poker so apart from schooling Chomps, I was pretty much sitting out & watching all the fast-trappers commit hari-kari. Chomps was back home in time for Crossroads.

Mega had around 20k, ageing blonde broke had around 10k. For me this is an insta-shove, happy to race Mega's AK to get a stack. Or knock him off AJ and AQ. If he's got JJ so be it.
He wouldn't bet 7.5x with QQ, KK, AA, and could easily have 77, 88, 99, all of which he's sick enough to call with.
Even smooth flat float rimming wouldn't be bad in this case imo.
If it comes 8 high, Mega would bet something like 1500 again in my experience.
Then you go all in. Most of the time they can't call.
Apparently.

It's shove-monkey poker. He reminds me of a cross between Compo & Bingo Bill. Subtlety & finesse are strangers at his house.

Actually I think what I do here is make it 3,500. Or flat smooth rim. Or go all in. Don't mind any of the three imo.
As for folding...
Anyway, I'lve flat floated this hand on poker hand anaylsis. Be interesting to see what the proper players think.

Just for balance, the other night at 400/800 TW open shoved for 14k.  I have 99 in MP2 and 40k in chips.  Quite a long tank for me ~ I folded in the end and got shown QQ.

Yup, saw that. It's going well, eh?

If I were you, I'd not bother putting up the 4-4 jobbie.  You'd get savaged.

I nearly did.  A guy sat in late looked like he was interested too.  I was thinking of the chip utility of not flipping those 14k, it would allow me to double up a few short stacks later on instead...
