The ratings have halved this series, and based on that they have decided to cancel it according to the newpapers
Bloke involved in the making of it said it was past half way for it's shelf life (is that one word ?? ) and that he thought it was getting too repetitive and they might look to change it but never said nowt bout it ending

Good read. My main complaint recently is they seem to be staging lots of errors for no particular reason. Eg, in the last ep Hammond's painting falling into the water. May's sculpture falling over. Jeremy driving the art car into a ditch. wtf was the point of any of these? The most cringworthy one was the electric car they pushed into a tree and then turned around pretending nothing was happening. Things going wrong are funny when they actually go wrong. Making things go wrong to be funny is not funny.

Just watched the special. Really really good. Some of those bits just looked terrifying.

Though I do think the bit at the end with Hammond's car rolling down the dune spoiled it. Why do they feel the need to do this sort of nonsense :/

I liked that James May had a mini shoe shine kit in the jungle. His Englishness is impressive.

do you think the bit where clarkson was going round the white car, almost falling off the edge of the dangerous road was staged somehow? the camera angles seemed too perfect.

How come with the left had drive (all the weight of the driver on the left) and the fact they drive on the right he ends up passing on the left and teetering on the brink of the ravine. Feck that. I'm driving on the right and staying on the right. The dude in the white car can pass on the dodgy side imo.

he'd already mentioned that they switch sides a lot with seemingly no logic and in several of the shots earlier people were driving on the left on something that tight with a death drop on your left it makes sense to drive on the left so the driver on the edge can see where his wheels are in relation to the edge if I'm actually there though I'm just parking up as far from the edge as possible and letting the other dude squeeze past in his own time

Gonna give it a miss 'cos I'll have to watch it a gazillion times on Dave, so at least it'll be a gazillion minus one.

Watched it last night on iPlayer! My arse was nipping for Jezza on the side of that mountain! Even if it was staged it looked pretty scary to me!!

yep kinda pissed me of as well, just let the drive and the cars do the talking although for me the genuine fear in mays eyes coupled with his genuine anger at clarkson on rear ending him made me smile.

I'm guessing it was and it wasn't. They were probably driving along and found a narrow bit they thought would be good to film and just filmed it. Seemed like whichever way you look at it he had to drive along a terrifying bit.
