I have a serious issue with salted popcorn when I go to the cinema. How bad is eating an XL Salted Popcorn to yourself.

really bad imo. get sweet popcorn, salted sucks

+1

You have issues Stu.  No wonder you need all that beer if you've been eating loads of salty popcorn.

Today's novice questions...

I have a serious issue with salted popcorn when I go to the cinema. How bad is eating an XL Salted Popcorn to yourself.

Peanut Butter has been mentioned a few times, is this not like just eating lard?

There's not a lot of harm that popcorn can do to you but obviously salt isn't great.

I'd guess salt in moderation is better than lashings of butter though.

Peanut butter is good for you as long as it's not got too much added stuff like salt.

It's a great source of healthy protein but if you buy the wrong one it comes with loads of added shite that isn't so great. You definitely need to check the label.

I'd only eat peanut butter if I was trying to to increase my intake of calories as it's very high even for a small amount.

Again it's a moderation thing. Too much peanut butter is bad but if it's natural peanut butter in moderation it's got loads of helathy stuff in it.

have to disagree with this. it's full of fat, mostly saturated. that's why it tastes so good

Sigh

A little research and it looks like your quite right Gatso.
There is a possibility that by eating that bucket of popcorn I consumed around 2k in calories!

Oops.

what are your goals Mark? Weight loss, weight gain, muscle build?

Just trying to lean out really, I was 16 1/2 stone when I started trying to drop weight and got down just  under 15 stone before I got lazy over the last 3-4 weeks. I reckon at a guess 13stone would probably be right but I've never been lighter than 14 so can't know.

Think you're both talking gash.

It's about 5% fat hardly any of which is saturated.

It's also about 80% carbohydrate so I don't see how it can be great on a low carb diet.

Popcorn is absolutely fine. It's the crap they add to it that makes the overall product at the cinema totally shit.

Yeah I mean obviously I need to lose fat but I'm not too worried about what I weigh, the main target is decreasing bodyfat and altering my body composition.

If you can throw some cardio in too that will help lose fat if you're trying to get rid. I'm kind of handcuffed in that respect and can't do any so I'm relying solely on the lifting to help me burn the cals required.

The most important thing of all is your diet and it's the thing I find hardest to maintain. It's poor really as I work from home yet still get lazy and pick at shit a lot of the time. When I was not doing this I was dropping a couple lbs a week and life was good. Once this is down then you're laughing and the changes will happen more quickly. Plenty of rest is important too and probably my biggest downfall as I sleep nowhere near enough.

Yeah both great exercises, deadlifts are the best exercise for putting on mass everywhere as they work so many muscles. I love back day!!

For losing weight?

If you're in a caloric deficit and training regularly then you can lose weight just from lifting, I've been doing it this year.
