I have been on a high protein diet for 18 months, lost 55lb, however the diet i'm following allows for 40g of carbs a day, just had cholesterol checked and was fine, WILL i DIE?

Fortunately at the moment the excess protein you are consuming is being converted in to glucose which provides energy for your day to day needs.

Also your body is using it's stored fat reserves to provide energy hence the reason you are losing weight.

If you continue to lose weight at that rate then at some stage your body will have to find energy from somewhere other than it's fat reserves at which time it will start to draw on protein which is vital for muscle regeneration.

At this point you will probably bring on a premature death.

Hopefully before you start to waste away you'll realise that you can up your carbs a touch.

High protein / low carb is great to lose weight. It will work.

I'm not too sure about it's benefits as a maintenance system once you have reached a more suitable weight though.

Cliffs: YES.

Pork's not too bad mate.

Not perfect but as a one off and as long as you remove the fat it won't kill you.

Not sure about the nutritional value, I just love 'em Cheesy

I know the ones I get are less than 5% fat and I think are mostly carbs.  My diet's pretty high in carbs, so that doesn't bother me - not sure what your carb intake needs to be.

Really struggled with the dumbell pressing today. I seemed to hit a wall during my 2nd set and had to cut it short.

I'm not quite sure what it was that caused it but I have a few ideas.

I did quite a lot of abs work before training and also some pretty heavy incline pressing so that may have made life a bit tough.

I've also been a bit tired which may have contributed.

Another possibilty is my diet which has been quite low carb. I might have to up the carbs a little bit and maybe have something a bit more substantial before training.

Pork Tenderloin apparently has around the same fat as skinless chicken breast, so that could be an option if you like Pork.
