I was given a RumbleRoller Compact X-Firm (http://www.rumbleroller.com/foam-rollers.html).

It's like a bloody torture device.  Good for thighs after a run or a hockey match though. Also helped my back when I'd tweaked a muscle in it.  But think I need to get a less severe one!

Think the camp-o-meter needle is approaching maximum.

Needed to reduce the camp-factor.

I was planning on keeping this strictly to training rather than lose focus but I think we need to throw in a counter-strike to this sausage fest that seems to have occured in the last few hours.

I've never used a foam roller before although I understand they're supposed to be really good for you.

If I was going to use one it would probably be this one:

BTW Matt, do you know a good posing oil that doesn't irritate your skin?

The key here is actually to get the tan right rather than worry too much about the oil. If you get the tan nice and even then a very light cover of any non allergenic baby oil should do the trick as demonstrated by the lovely Jamie below:

I was thinking of maybe picking up the 100 push up challenge at some point in the next few months. There were quite a few made a start at it a while ago on another thread but it just seemed to suddenly die a death for some reason.

Could be fun if a few people were up for giving it a go and it could possibly be tracked on here if people are interested. There used to be some quite good interaction on this thread and I believe it was the original inspiration for the 'blonde will make you thin' thread when there was a bunch of us doing a bit of a weight loss prop.

Anybody up for it?

How much can you squat? I've got quite into lifting over the last six months and I did my first 100kg+ squat this month. Not sure how that shapes up in the grand scheme of things but it's an amount I never thought I could do.

I've never been much of a squater even in my prime. I think my max was about 140kg which compared to the amounts I was leg pressing wasn't a lot.

Anything over 100kg is fantastic. Awesome work!!

When I start back on legs if I can manage 100kg at any point in the first 3 to 6 months I'll be very happy indeed.

Yeah my biggest leg press was actually 240kg (2 reps). Obviously that doesn't include your back in any way.

My annual goals for lifting this year are over 100kg for squat, deadlift and bench press. Done 102.5kg for squat so far, about 80kg for deadlift and a little over 70kg for the bench press.

I can send you a schedule if you want mate for these strength exercises.  It's a squat schedule that has been adapted for other powerlifing/weightlifting lifts and the gains seen are pretty incred.

I squatted 280kg in my prime.  F/squat af around 245kg.  I was never a big bencher as never wanted a big chest.  When back in the gym last year I was benching 100kg to start with and after a 6 week schedule I was doing doubles with 125kg.

Not been near gym in 6 months though following a back injury, hopefullt get back in about it in next few weeks.

Yep I remember that. I was awful at push-ups and got to 56 thanks largely thanks to advice from.........oh that's right it was you.

Not sure I want to do it again as it was a hard slog, however I do want to get through some of these this year, from the Mens Health Fitness Challenge:

Bench 1.5 Times Your Body Weight
Run 1.5 Miles in 10 Minutes
Touch the Rim (A basketball one)
Leg-Press 2.25 Times Your Weight (Done)
Swim 700 Yards in 12 Minutes
Do 40 Pushups (Done, years ago though)
Run 300 Yards Sub 1 Minute
Touch Your Toes
Toss a Basketball 75 Feet Kneeling

Unbelievable weights there mate!! Proper bar bending stuff!!

Are you just one of those naturally strong guys or did you have to really work at it?

Obviously you had to work to get to your peak levels but I think you'll know what I mean.

Would be great if could post that schedule on here if you have time. Might be something I'd like to have a go at now I'm feeling fully fit.

BASTARD!!!!! Just typed out a long winded post only to lose it when I clicked 'post' not realising my internet connection had dropped out! Most annoying!

Anyway in summary:

6th Jan 2015 24kg x 10, 28kg x 8, 28kg x 8, 28kg x 8

13th Jan 2015 26kg x 10, 30kg x 8, 34kg x 8, 34kg x 6

20th Jan 2015 30kg x 10, 34kg x 8, 40kg x 8, 40kg x 5

Happy with this and thinking I'll be on the 50's within a month or so although last time it took ages to get that last 10kg so I may be being overly optimistic.

I'm not sure where to go with this diary. It used to be really good with lots of interaction when it was in the lounge and was more of a training discussion for everyone rather than just my own personal diary. That all changed when Tighty banished me to the dairies section and I kind of lost interest. Anyway without interaction this is nothing more than a personal log of weights I've managed to lift and to be honest I don't really need that.

So the 2 options are:

More people get involved - This could become a proper diary if anybody's interested in the life of a (nearly) 40 year old electrical engineer running a little electrical installation company in Nottingham. I play a bit of poker, I've gambled more than most and I've dated more strippers than normal women so there must be an interesting story available somewhere. Only problem is I was so drunk for most of my life I probably can't remember the best ones.

Nobody cares - I forget this diary and migrate over to the blonde will make thin thread. (What happened to the 'you' Lee?).

So what's it to be? I'll give this a couple of weeks then re-assess. It would be a shame to lose this completely but I really think it's gone stale so maybe it's time to call it a day.

Liking the pictures!  Not so keen on the press up challenge until i am lighter but def 100% keep the diary going as i see it as what my life could have been if i stayed in the corporate world and avoided spending my 30s punting/drinking and eating my way to the physical wreck i have become.  It is motivational for the fatties for sure.

Not sure I banished you, or that banished is the right word..:-) . certainly a lot of stuff was moved in here when i diaries board was created, but it wasn't personal towards you

but anyway, can move it to the lounge if it helps/motivates/appeals, no problem at all

I like the diary as is, however if you were to ditch it, dont join the thin thread, I see this more of a 'Blonde will make you fucking huge (in a non fat way)' thread, so make it a seperate thread.

Best option is moving it to lounge with the caveat that there will be stripper stories.
