V. upset with lack of response. I thought this would spark a discussion... what are you people doing on a Sunday that's better than musing over mini horses and massive ducks?
I would like to formally apologise for my lack of postage yesterday.
This apology goes to all readers of this thread, especially to birdforum.
A mere 1 post in the morning. Lol, that's just ridic imo.
I blame the sun, the BBQ, the family,
the vegetable patch
, guitars and obv the booze.
A proper marv day all round.
Particular apologies to
Greg
for not responding to his
important
survey!
+1 to tighty's reponse; a selection of small ones would deffo be the better option imo
CONGRATS to the Vinster and Expresso for yesterday's excellent first and second. A perfect result for my fantasy team. wd guys.
Drainy.

Proving i am multai talented ship points for 3rd in the Oma ha ha ha... would have been more but Edna is just ridic at hitting hands.....in the space of an hour she must have flopped a dozen sets that subsequently housed up on the turn....3 handed short stuck folded his way to 2nd as Edna and i dueled to the death...
Final hand had edna crushed me holding A K K 5 v Edna A 8 8 2...obv A 7 2 flop sigh......
Early exit in the hundred not helped by running full house into Chompys runner runner quads..sigh..... although i felt a lot better when Celtic 4 bet him off AK with 2 3 os..... oh the look on Chompys face was a mastercard moment....

I find it interesting that people at the poker table are quick to judge other players, most of us have our opinions, but tend to keep them to ourselves .... I guess forums are there to let off steam or seek advice answers and confirmation from other players.
Just because I did well in one national tournament doesnt entitle me to write a blog, I agree, and I purely use facebook to update friends irregularly of what im up to, so hardly a blog in the true sense. I still have a lot to learn about the game, I have already been introduced to the green eyed monster that tends to accompany success... to state that someone is a nob is a bit harsh imo and appreciate the balance being address by my learned Scottish friend!
I have a 3 hour round trip to play tournaments in Luton and play there on the advice of my trainer Graham Pound, as he feels that the quality of players there is generally of a good standard and that I can learn a lot and hone my poker skills there. I have played several GUKPT and GCBPT main events and have had relative sucess in these without cashing. Played EPT and WSOPE side events and several festivals at Luton and Brighton as well as the DTD deepstack at Nottingham about 6 or 7 times, always making day 2, before I finally cracked it. So i am not under any illusions that I am better than the majority of players who I play against in national tournaments. The recent cash and several people staking me means that I will be able to play about 6 tournaments over the next 2 months and I think after that I should be able to take stock of whether I am any good at this game or not. Because of the fact that I havent had an awful lot of experience of final tabels except at a local level, I have to say that I tend to be led by the other players and realised in retrospect that after 3 double ups I could easily have gone on to win the recent Luton £100 FO, but I did end up with £800 which I was not unhappy with. However after that experience, you will be pleased to know that I will no longer be doing deals with other players or for the bubble, unless like the DTD deal it is in my favour or you guys wish to trade league points for cold hard cash. I look forward to visiting you again soon and would like to finish on the fact that I do respect a lot of the player's games at the GCasino and you can be assured that I will not be calling anyone a nob even if I think it to myself. may the poker Gods be with you!
Good reply Sementic ..... it went on longer than phuqqing Ghandi.
Unfortunately, you appear to lack the one definite requirement for playing at Luton ..... a sense of humour.
Also you're leaving yourself wide open to the other curse of the G ..... merciless piss-taking.
Seriously, what's the point of including a list of events you've failed in (is that why you need a trainer?) because of comments about a 'deal', in a run of the mill 'Luton Ton' .... that you admitted you weren't that happy with yourself.
Errrrrm, why do you need stakees if you've recently won at DDT (sic) ..... and why mention it?
I haven't read so much self promotion since the last Election leaflet dropped through the letterbox ..... are you that insecure?
So, yup .... you're a Nob!

Also, George Michael gets 8pts for the Plums fantasy team.
Very unlikely Celtic will be caught in the monthly standings now.
Rockstar's fantasy lead down to just 28pts now. And it's now all square fror third between MAS boy and Mr Plums, with Mr McBink making steady headway.

I don't think anyone was questioning your poker ability Peter, just that it seemed odd someone would take less than 4th place money in a four way chop. I presumed it was a mistake in reporting which was the only reason it got mentioned.
edit: just read previous posts back - take your point.

Always up for scrabble claw bird, was probably planning on getting in to the Omaha at the time. But couldn't buy in while still in the main event, although you can if you at the final table (!) and bust out 30seconds into the break. When you also ca't buy in. Good old Grosvenor.
Sat around waiting for someone intel to play scrabble and eventually made do with Nirvana.

Early exit in the hundred not helped by running full house into Chompys runner runner quads..sigh
LOL, biased reportage here. 100-200, two limpers, so I limp in position with J8 suited. Gay boys in the blinds check it.
Flop Q8X rainbow. Check to me so I bet. Sir Donkeys fails to define his hand (queen) and just rim flats.
Turn another eight, putting up two spades and giving are dee a flush draw with his top pair. Again he check-calls my masterful cee-cee bet.
River the other eight and are dee decides to fist pump bet 2000. I have 4300 back to pistol-whip shove. A good player folds here, knowing I must have quads, so he makes the insta-snap obv.
