Analysts respond to the shock news from Enfield yesterday. The blonde League thread landscape has changed forever.
MARK WICKHAM-JONES, PROFESSOR OF POLITICAL SCIENCE, BRISTOL
"I just can't see how this would work, given there's such a gulf between Chompy and Drainy. Chompy can actually write FFS, it's really hard to see how they can find a way forward.
"I still think the most likely outcome is a minority Drainy thread. I just don't quite understand what Boer Wars is doing either, it's all looks quite a bit desperate.
"It looks as if Drainy is determined to stay in power at any cost. He's so far short of a majority of useful brian cells. It's such a distance between Chompy and him
"My interpretation would be that Drainy is making a few gestures but he's probably planning for a minority administration."
TIM BALE, SENIOR POLITICS LECTURER, SUSSEX UNIVERSITY:
"I thought it was very much an opening gambit by Birdforum."
"It's very difficult for me to imagine the Drainy's going into a full-blown coalition with anyone with a brain. You also have the individuals problem - where do you slot the Rockstar and the luther101 into a coalition thread?"
"Formation of a minority thread is relatively easy, the Chompies could abstain (on key votes). That is what goes on in European forums where threads are often tolerated rather than supported."
SIMON LEE, SENIOR POLITICS LECTURER, HULL UNIVERSITY
"It is very clear that Chompy is caught between a rock and a hard place. He has offered an all party inquiry into Player behaviour ... I doubt very much whether Coco Pops would be prepared to settle for something as limited as that."
"He will already have been told by senior members of his shadow thread cabinet that if he was to offer for example a referendum on expelling HoldorPoutalot, as Drainy night do, I think that would cause major problems in the thread"
"At the moment, unless Chompy is prepared to take a risk and agree to support Drainy without a commitment from Drainy to write properly and talk sense for a change, we aren't going to have a coalition or some sort of political agreement between the Chompies and the Drainies."

Look, Drainy's useless. I'll do the thread
Congratulations to TightEnd who last night tore through the field to chop it, official finish 3rd for 9 points. No other points scorers.
Special mention to Rockstar, who despite holding down four jobs including his new role as Fosters Mystery Shopper, Bedfordshire Division and an extended family and commitments to lead a Nickelback tribute band at Chicago's Luton thrice weekly, railed most of the night.
Special mention to James "Boer Wars" Miller for his strategy advice proferred to most of the field during last night's tournament. He's the best player in Luton who originated from South Africa dontcha know. Except the Le Knave lookalikey.
Special mention to Trevor "Humble" Webber for telling me the same unamusing anecdote on three occasions through the night. It really is a rum affair when you get moved table twice and each time to the left of "Humble". I told him what a "full Trevoring" was though. [ ] He understood. [ ] Rockstar kept a straight face. [x ] BoerWars kept a straight face.
Special mention to Drainy for not showing up with LRRH. Thanks mate

Many Congrats Mr Drain ... and major commiserations to you CH10 MPY
Not gonna have much time for Luton any more so Mr Drainy ... first order of priority can yer remove me from the league please muchas muchas
Mich/x
No, no, thrice no. This is not a time of commiseration, this is a time to celebrate.
No no you misunderstand CH10 MPY - commiserations in the fact that now you are no longer a league elder and in chargez it is now free reign to apply various nicknames to you without fear of being point deducted innit ... let the names flow now innit

I understand the heartbreak resonating around the home counties
you're a cruel man then, just tease tease tease and walk away

Article 3a(iii)(ix) on Drainy's new manifesto reads as follows:
"During this period of change there are to be no snap removals of leagueites from the league table. While the elders understand that Chompy was a hero figure to many participants, it is felt a 'bedding-in' period is required before major decisions are undertaken."
All articles from outgoing leadership are null and void and in private discussions with the proper rightful new leader (
Mrs
Drainy) the removal of members at the request are currently in process ... so there
and last but not least .......
[ x ] Drainy will now be frustrated at trying to figure out how to multiple quote in one post .... my parting gift to you Sir

BARRY HEARN EXPRESSES INTEREST IN LUTON BLONDEITE LEAGUE TAKEOVER
Serial improver of stuff what ain't working proper, Barry Hearn, this morning showed an interest in taking over the ailing Luton Blondeite League in a deal reputedly worth £200m.
In a press release Hearn, commented: "What I've done with darts'n'poker'n'stuff is nothing short of amazing and I reckon I can do the same with the Luton league.
"This time last year, when Snatiramas, Birdforum and Tikay were regulars on the thread tour, it was thriving, regularly pulling in as many as 20 viewers at any one time.
"I'll be looking at darts-style walk-ons as league players enter the Luton G, probably with a dolly bird either side.
"As with the arrers, players will have their own theme tune, like 'Lay Your Hands On Me' for Rockstar, while Boer Wars and Sir Donksalot can fight it out for 'Simply The Best'.
"The Chompy era is over and, like the great man himself, I'm not prepared to go into the whys and wherefores of what led to him going. Suffice it to say he's just being gay.
"But in Drainy and Drainetta we have a youthful-looking, driven duo who are open to new ideas. The future looks very bright."
