Donks & Chomks arrived & started playing proper poker.

that's never getting through

Their version of proper poker - Raise like Donks EVERY hand. Still, they both got nice early nights, whilst I was in the Tourney all night.

Name the player.

The SAME "player" made these two plays last night. Name him.

Mr X Raises it up pre in Level 2, gets re-raised, snap flats.

K-T-3.

Mr X checks, Young Gun bets, Mr X flats.

Turn, 9, so K-T-3-9.

Check check.

River 7. So, K-T-3-9-7

Check to Young Gun, he bets about the Pot, 3k. Mr X snap-calls.

Young Gun shows 2-2 (!!!), Mr X scoops with.......5-3. Then says "I call a shove on the end".

Later, Mr X, playing plenty now, clashes with Luton's Phil Hellmuth impression, headphones, shades, chip tricks, the lot.

The Board comes  x.

Mr X bets about half the pot.

Phil Hellmuth min-raises.

Mr X snap folds - & shows the

hmm, so many potential candidates.  I'll try the Ruppinator as a first guess.

Hameed made a breathtakingly original play last night.

Playing about 7 x BB, he limps for 2k, Phil Hellmuth Raises it up to 7k, & Hameed snap-jams, Hellmuth makes the onligitory call.

Hellmuth A-Q, Hameed A-9!

He binked, too.

My next guess was gonna be Hamed but presume  not as you've mentioned him above (unless it's a double bluff).  Pino? lionel?

Future reproduction of matter contained within the official tournament report - clearly not studied in this case - will lead to point deductions.

It actually went, me 325 @ 50-100, Jamie 1000 on the button. I can't pass 35 clubs out of position so smooth rim.
Flop 10 6 3.
Me check, Jamie 1050, me smooth rim.
Turn 7 diamonds, putting up two diamonds. Check check.
River K spades. Check, 3000. Call.

"Player of the Night Award" goes to Sicilidonk.

Soft Tables all evening resulted in him finalling with 190% of the chips in play, 73 trillion roughly.

He could have gone home before the Final started & still blinded into 2nd place.

He chose Plan B, & Raised EVERY hand.

Even the Nits soon worked this out, & we held a sweepstake to decide in what order we would pick him off.

Down to double Average, he starts open jamming now. Same result.

Soon, he was down to 6xBB.

Now all of a sudden he makes it 2.5BB from his 6xBB stack. Hamed passes K-K, I Pass Q-Q, & our Hero bemoans why he can't get action. "Because you have Aces" everyone, incl Kalem, replies. He shows Aces.

I actually felt sorry for him in the end. And I like him, & I like his game. But truly, I've never seen a stack butchered quite like that. Awesome.

I sent news of this to Chomps today, & he replied "damn, how bad do I run not to witness that?". (Err, because you donked off?)

The G Casino Luton, a haven of peace and tranquility where once within the four walls any sense of management common sense can be abandoned along with all hope of ye who enter it

The Managers are settled around the plywood table. In the corner, Kalam is polishing the metal frame of the white board, whilst surreptitiously sniffing the marker pens, hoping Carmel won't notice.

Carmel calls the meeting to order with a "ra-ta-ta-tat" of her Yves Saint Laurent glasses on the table.

Kalam returns to the table, and his chair, unsteadily. An inane grin on his face that goes unnoticed by all those used to it

"So then" opines Carmel "Monday nights"

"40 runners each week, nice crowd. Popular with our minor regulars but I have problems with it"

The assembled team shuffles nervously, until Ian bravely asks the obvious question

"Why?"

Carmel stares at him with a look practiced from Adebayo's look she first saw on those splendid rookie nights twenty years ago. Oh how she pined for those days, a packed card-room, the cry of "CHIPS" punctuating the riffle of chips with a monotonous regularity that kept the tills ringing and paid for her holidays to Lanzarote twice a year.

She brought herself to focus on the issue. In the corner Raj and Dan were staring mournfully into each others eyes, wide-eyed and watery and as innocent as a young doe and buck gambolling on the fields of Luton Hoo. In the centre Nina was drawing a picture of Jonny Vaccuhoover and had already made large holes where the eyes were. At the other end Andy Lyew had somehow infiltrated the meeting and was throwing shapes to a silent beat, ignored by the others. Ian Willmott had already passed out behind the bar that the team had installed in the memeting room some months only, accounted for as "captial expenditure" and approved by Head Office alongside "new super duper website, to be updated weekly"

Finally Carmel spoke

"It goes on too long. Old nits pass until 4am, play a hand and then deal four ways for £300 each. It would be ok if Sicilian and Nirvana ever stayed in long enough to reach the final but no, its always the bloody nits. Pass..Pass....Pass"

"No cash games. Where are Poole, Avi and Gas when I need them on a Monday night?"

"None of these regulars ever play the house games. They order tea and water and don't spend behind the bar. Unless Drainy comes. They discuss some bloody poker league on some bloody forum and spend a whole level trying to get savers for sixth and seventh. I have had enough"

Raj stopped staring into her fiance's eyes whilst simultaneously browsing "Weddings for Croupiers, a 72 part series in association with K-Tel" and asked

"So what are we having instead?"

Carmel rose, and stood proudly

"Rebuys are back. £10 rebuys. It's what my gambler punters want. Spend a ton, spend another ton on the roulette, sink a few beers, and home in time for a quick fumble at midnight. Work the next morning. Good night had by all and those flipping blonde league tossers with their arty farty in jokes can go somewhere else on Mondays. Mondays are mine"

and with that Kalam flipped a switch on the PA system and out wafted the unmistakeable strains of

Kalam stood alongside his boss and let out an almighty cry

"to battle, for the G, for Head Office and for cereals! Charge"

[   ] see you later.

Pure class!

I should really pass my keyboard, my spell checker, (Not that you need it) and any comedic literary aspirations I ever had on to you Rich.

When it comes to word-smithery, I will forever be in your shadow.
