Live about a mile and a bit from there. At 6 ish I could be found wandering my house with weapon in hand looking for the loudest intruders to ever burgle me house.

Taped the repeat of MOTD at 7.35 to 9am and it was ditched for the fire. Had to chuckle at one of the eyewitness reports though..." I live 3 miles from the Oil Depot but I walked to within a mile to investigate further" Jesus H Christ what a t***. Looks pretty bad, was it a bomb?

A police investigation into the incident has begun, including investigations by anti-terrorist police.

But Chief Con Whiteley said there was "nothing to suggest anything other than an accident".

A Hertfordshire fire service spokesman said: "This is the largest incidence of its kind in peacetime Europe."

Thankfully no one was killed.

Travelled through Helem and St Albans in the train this afternoon - in my less than perfect state this morning .. I had to put sunglasses on, as the sun was quite bright and hurting the old eyes, but it went eerily overcast with all the smoke, there is a haze that isn't quite a haze around there, and you can see the start and end of the smoke plume, because it just makes it really dark.

There was a couple of women who got on the trainand were talking about what happened when the sound of the blast hit them - windows taken out, huge noise and one woman said her bed was shaking!

Home now in South London, and we can see the start of the cloud getting here... very black clouds - not like a raincloud, and wispy - very unlike a rain cloud.

Shocking stuff - I hope it was an accident.

Three million gallons of fuel going up is gonna be loud....I think the biggest bang i ever heard was when the space shuttle Exploded over North Texas about 3 years ago.. Funny enough i think that was a sunday morning too..

It made the house shake...

I remember that bundle, and yeah it was a sunday morning, i was on my way to watch it land!!

Funny diffrence between our 2 nations, americans started on the idea of terrorism despite the fact it was coming back from space!!

Brits just thought accident, even though it could easily be terrorism.
