I don't mind a call here tbh. I usually 3 bet but an occasional call is fine too.
If we hit a set it's so well hidden that nobody can ever put us on it. If we miss we're deep enough to get value further down the line on a decent board. At this early stage in this type of tournament someone will donk off their stack to us with A9 on a 9 high board.

Either flat or 3bet, if we 3bet plz not one of these monster 3bet's 450-500 is crazy imo might as well shove, 360 would do the trick.

Only played two rounds and Villain had played three hands. He had raised once before this, from the blinds (no showdown).
At this early stage yes I can 3bet for value but then villain can put me in a difficult spot if he shoves, right? I don't want to race with AK for stacks, I don't want to be stacked by AA/KK, and I don't want 99-JJ/AQ etc folding to my 3-bet.
I chose to do a 'flat-call' and use position to i) try and avoid being stacked by AA/KK on a low board, ii) extract value from worse hands and iii) get out if the wrong board and the wrong action happens.
Pre Flop: (t45) Hero is BTN with
1 fold, UTG+1 raises to t120, 2 folds, CO calls t120, Hero calls t120, 2 folds
Flop: (t405)
(3 players)
UTG+1 bets t210, CO calls t210, Hero....

I dont mind over shoving here, and expect to get called from 77-JJ most of the time and even sometimes a funky AK.

In a stars $50 tournament you're not in a difficult spot if he shoves. The only difficulty should be bringing your finger down from the ceiling to click the call button before you time out.

As played there is no need to over shove as there is only 2 cards to come and possible 6 outs between them. We want to drag all their chips in.
