Scotty, any thoughts on Steves Dream tonight, 9/4 in the last at Romford? Will Viking Jack get the better of George, 2/1?

Yes, backed Steve, 40 to win 90 which is reasonable bet for me.

Airforce Karla FTW!

it needs trouble behind it now to win over 575 against anything sub 35.50.  4 went past it like it was shot down the home straight.  You beat the price as ever Scotty can't do any more.  Could be worse you could have a million aftertimers giving you subtle rubs like i have!  All just friendly banter though obv!

Towcester tonight, big shame it's only on SIS and of course bookies close so not all the meeting will be shown. Anyway think I've had a little value dibble dabble. I really like Burnfoot Alpha at 9/2 ( as low as 3/1 in places and will prob be this come off) it's up against King Dec who is odds on but I think this dog is better than the price suggests and has enough to take this. Have had £40 win.

Big shame it's not on RPGTV as all we have tonight is the usual graded shit from newcastle and cray.  BAGS got the rights to it though unfortunately.  Watching brief for me to see how the track runs.  GL getting involved on the opening night.

Just sent this email to rpgtv.  Not expecting it to be discussed and/or read out.  Towcester looks a total disgrace based on the closing sp % on the first two races.

http://www.thedogs.co.uk/resultsMeeting.aspx?racedate=06/12/2014%2000:00:00&track=Towcester

Hope the first two races at the track are not a sign of things to come given the incredibly good standard of open runners at the track tonight.  What percentage is their opening show if their closing % is this high?  All the major off course firms have priced these races up during the day so the track layers have a strong tissue to use.   Presumably when they are graded races the % will be even higher as opens are easier to price up and less risk to a layer.

If the experienced track layers there can only price up such quality racing to these sort of margins then people are just going to stay at home and bet on the machine.  Betting to 140%+ on top class open racing is criminal in 2014.  So much for the top class new dog track.  Punters treated with contempt as usual to pay for it.

First race closing sp % - 143%

Second race closing sp % - 142%

Regards

These are 6 dog open races.  WTF are they going to bet the 8 runner graded races to if they can get away with 142/3% in 6 dog opens?

8 runner race 3 - 146%

race 4 - 141%

race 5 - 127%

race 6 - 146%

Wonder what happened on race 4 for them to shave 15% of their margins?

Totally disgraceful for an opening night of a brand new track which claimed the on course layers would be forced to bet to fair %'s.  The track tote only takes out 18% on the win pool.  How many serious punters have looked forward to Towcester opening then seen this and will never bother attending?

towcester

race 7 - 145%

race 8 (8 dog race) - 152%

race 9 - 151%

race 10 - 139%

Feck me didn't think they could take the piss anymore.  No wonder BAGS/SIS are so keen to get them on the service in the betting shops.

Tremendous.

You brought your satchel? You could set up a shop, run a 120% book and be labelled a hero.

I could stay at home send my gran into towcester 'follow oddschecker gran from the early prices which have been bashed into shape all day long.  They are bet to 115-120% best price.  Just put them into the laptop then add 6% a runner to each one and away you go'.

I wouldn't mind at all other than the bullshit from the Towcester ceo who has been on rpgtv twice chirping about how the on course layers will be betting to good percentages which are fair and encourage punters to come to the track.

I bet your gran would spot the flaw in the system and add a nice edge to the early prices while milking you on the exchange.

his wages are paid by the sponsors.  5 out of 6 of them are high street firms.  1 is betfair.   I think betfair gets a rreally bad deal out of this sponsorship.  I want to go on there one night as a guest and promote the firm (as my commission on a nighty basis is paying for bf's sponsorship) even though i don't work for them directly.   Since bf fired Calvin (their former head of PR who used to appear once a month on the shows in the studio and massively sell the bf exchange product) bf have never had anyone on the show selling their product.  These clueless lol trader types in the studio (who mostly work for the racing post and/or sis who have a massively vested interest in the show being profitable via the sponsors - the big 5 high st firms and betfair) are hardly going to rock the boat when their nap is 25/1 on bf and its 7/1 in the ring and say 'listen lads don't take the 7/1 my nap (which can't win but thats why i am putting it up as my nap so u mugs follow me in and back it with the guys who pay my wages) go on betfair and get 25/1 because it can't win and thats why it is 25/1 where the sharks play.  That's the reality of the situation.

If you see their P+L on their naps and nb's over a year you will realise just how clueless they are.  Don't think anyone in the studio in 3 years has ever shown a profit over a year on their best and 2nd best bets of the night every night!  Great judges!  imagine how much they lose on their non best bets of the night over a year!
