DTD Monte Carlo sat
32 left of 192 starters, 20 seats and we're in 9th spot on 39k
Blinds are 1500/3k + 150
Average stack is about 20k
In the big blind with KK it folds to the button who shoves for 17k
Is this an instasnap or was my after thinking nitty?

Insta to wrap up the seat.
You aren't guaranteed a seat you are miles from the bubble, and you can lose and still have a shove stack

Updated. I'd wrote it down but for some reason forgot to post it. Sure know how to get HH's out of DTD site.

Around 60k locks a seat up at that stage therefore it's a snap for me Matt.

Call, we are still too far away from the bubble and our stack is to short to fold our way into the money.

We can fold and have a re shove stack as well though to put pressure on similar stacks. We also maintain FE against the big stacks. Also do you really class this as miles away?

if you prefer reshoving to getting in with a king and another king then good luck way too far out to be playing like we're on the bubble

I think it's accepted that KK is a snap but what else is? I had almost exactly the same situation one orbit later with JJ and passed. Should we be calling QQ and AK here? I assume AQ and JJ are folds but not sure about the ones in the middle. Also I don't see how we can class ourselves as way off the bubble. We're 11 inside the seat places and there's 11 to go before the bubble so surely that has to be taken in to account? With average stack at 7 bigs players are going to be dropping out fast.

button should be shoving fairly wide here with under 6bb and this far out. our calling range is going to be read dependent obv but I'm always calling qq+ and ak even against a tight player, wider against most
you think we're close to the bubble but we still have to lose 40% of the field, this could go on for a while as people start to tighten up

I would snap this very hard. Your standard open into reshove stacks already at the table is like half this amount and that will be happening a lot the way the game stands imo. I agree it's too far from the bubble to not want this gamble to happen. Winning means you can look down from your locked up seat at all the peasanty shoving and re-shoving that's about to kick off.

I'm reasonably sure there were about 1.2 mill chips in play, therefore ave. must have been higher than 7 x BB. QQ / AK are a call for me in this spot, and probs wider than that depending on the player.

This just doesn't happen tho ppl fold down to 1bb hoping to bink a seat, think the 300 sat last weds took another hour from this point. I'm interested in what spot you where in when you folded JJ ??
