Just so Tighty, Tikay, Flushy and Co know in advance, I'm suing Blonde when it eventually costs me my job.

It's ok, the chances of us having enough to pay you out are zero.

Better than that Prew Diddy, you would only have to pay him loss of earnings if he did win.
Even Blonde has £13.50 a month spare.

for the record i wont be sueing, simply because i wont actually be suffering any financial hardship out of it. i wont lose any earnings, so i dont see what i could possibly claim for.

i do think though it is reasonable to expect the gym to take care of its customers by doing their best to grit the walkways (properly) and other parts of the car park. there was evidence that a cursory attempt had been made, but it was obviously totally inadequate.  considering that most visitors to a gym are going to be carrying a bag of some sort means that their balance isnt going to be perfect.

and yes, i do feel a bit of an idiot.

To be honest I think you should make a claim but not for financial reward just to make sure they don't get away with it.

Take them to court if necessary get a few k but make it clear from day 1 that any payout will be donated to charity.

Is it a big gym that you go to? Do they charge you about £60 a month? Then sue the twats imo!!!!!

They shouldn't get away with it. If you really think that the pathway was dangerous and that the gym should have sorted it then someone needs to learn a lesson. If you make a claim you can be sure that in future the pathway will be gritted properly for other users.

Why are they twats?

Cos they charge a lot of money for a service that's meant to help make it's members a combo of fitter/healthier/stronger but are negligent enough to do things that might cause those members to hurt themselves, as what happened to LazawayneRooney.

Twats. I bet they used hard concrete and tarmac for the car park and then neglected to pad it with pillows.

It reminds me of the answer a computer gave when asked the question "How can cars be made safer?" Answer: Remove the wheels.

Why are they twats?

Because they made an effort to grit the path hence they knew it needed doing.

Unfortunately they did a piss poor job of it which has caused someone to slip and break his ankle.

Somebody's lack of effort in carrying out this simple task has caused pain and discomfort to Laz. If it isn't highlighted they will just do it again which is the way it seems to be in the service industry, total lack of care.

did I miss something?

so there i am, 6 weeks into my strenous weightloss and fitness program. everything going well, down over a stone. gets up this morning, go to the gym as usual. have a cracking workout feel really good. until i walked outside and realised the bastards hadnt gritted the paths in the carpark.

i go arse over tit. no problem, bit wet but no real pain apart from a sore ankle and feeling a bit of a plonker. go home, change clothes. drive 50 miles to see a customer, come home, and realise as i try to get out the car that i cant put any weight on my right foot. worse than that, i cant bloody drive either.

phone the missus who leaves work and drives me to the hospital - outcome : fractured ankle. complete rest for 7 days....

blatant looking for sympathy thread ? you bet Smiley

Did they grit the bits of the car park where the cars go, but not the pavements?
