Hi, Rob here.
Just quick note to say thank you to everyone that supported this event. As we all remember, we only got 190 runners last time, so 300 is a decent step in the right direction. The cost of last times event was over £90,000 in live/online overlays etc, this time we did it for around £40,000 and got 50% more runners, this was our target - spend 50% less and get 50% more!
If we could not make this one work, we would have to ask the question whether we could compete in what is a very congested £1000 - £2000 buy-in UK schedule, but hopefully with some positive signs here, despite the fact its very near xmas etc, hopefully we can continue to do these type of events without going skint.
Thanks again. Apologies if I have not been around since Friday, I've just got out of bed after getting ill on Friday night, but I did get a chance to say hello to a few old friends on Friday afternoon - before being totally wiped out by the flu bug, it was a good job I did not play the event actually.
Thanks again
Rob
PS. Nice updates Tighty, been following them from my bed.
PSS. Chubbs - out in 266th place - what story will it be this time - quads against house, set over set......

Enormous pot first hand of the day
the board reads
, am afraid I only arrived after the pre-flop action and Paul Ratchford has bet from the small blind, Ben Vinson raises to 55,000 from an early position
Ratchford ponders and makes an enormous check-raise over bet to 500,000
Vinson Calls!
Vinson shows
Ratchford
turn 10
River 4
Ratchford wins the pot, Vinson out 19th
