You said you would ignore owning players like Pab, yet you try and do the same yourself, this is the point I was making.
[ ] I know you well
[ ] Word on the grapevine is that you are good
[X] From players who have played with you/know your game
[X] soul read
now re-read the entire sentence and realise it has very little to do with Pab, even less to do with me owning Pab.
Without wanting to sound bitter - if I was you - id ignoring 'owning' legends like Pab and go for the value on your left (mr JJ!!!!!). the OP - would know what this means. I played 2 hands with Pab all day (as much as I remember), that certainly isnt the actions of a man trying to 'own' someone.
Like I said above, I had no desire to own pab - i genuinely believed that he wouldnt call and leave himself with 6k -it was my thoughts - i went with it - i was wrong - thats the game.
Just out of interest, as you are absolutely certain that I was trying to own him, can you tell me how the action panned out? what the board read and how the betting went? You will obviously know this if you were so certain i was trying to 'own him' - especially as I didnt even show my hand and therefore you are 100% reliant on someone else telling you what I held.
its good to see that you form your own opinions about people prior to casting judgement. It shows a real maturity! Ive heard that the grapevine is a wonderful place to pick up a fountain of knowledge about everything in life. Well done buddy - you keep believing everything your friends tell you! Dont worry about finding things out for yourself.
Im not going to sit here and defend my game - i think given my low volume I do OK, and I am happy with that. I have little desire to be a professional poker player. I enjoy it as a past time, I am very competitive and I like to win. I take losing very badly. Anyone that actually knows me (including some of your acquaintances) will tell you that I am a very different person at the table than I am away from it!
Japes.
Ok my bad, I guess that you must have been value betting the river vs Pab which is why you snap mucked. I saw the hand, not that I remember exact amounts but I am pretty sure you check called flop, lead turn and lead river.
You say you only played two hands vs Pab but the OP also said he wanted to own Pab in one hand, just because you only played 2 hands vs him doesn't mean you didnt want to try and own him.
I have met you before, I have seen you play once or twice and I have read hands that have been reported so I am forming my own opinion of your game as well as taking on other peoples opinion of your game.
"Without wanting to sound bitter - if I was you - id ignoring 'owning' legends like Pab and go for the value on your left (mr JJ!!!!!). "
I have reread the above sentence, and have reread the OP and my posts and can only assume that the vital part of this is "if I was you", meaning you wouldn't be looking to bluff Pab if you was the OP but it is ok if you are as good as you which is why you tried to. But got soul read.
Mad Japes.
