Various reports flying round work but I will stick to it passin 2 and there for the grace of the signal man. Well done that man.  Tbh I never thought of the brakes being locked on hence no back up safty net of the tpws. And yes spads are very common but I personaqlly think they are brought to light more now because of all the on board data recorders we have on board these days. By heck years back the old hands would have got away with it. We had one last week one of ours spad at leeds gantry.

Pay particular attention to the "Operation in cold conditions" section.

Enjoy.

Very interesting thanks.

While you're at it...lol

Why do the Chunnel train electrics mess up in a cold air - hot air transition?

I'm guessing it causes condensation to form, which later freezes.

No - the exact opposite, in fact. Snow which built up around the ducts when the trrain was in open countryside in a very cold Northern France melted when it entered the warm tunnel, & the moisture/water which ensued "shorted" the power plants.

That is positively OBSCENE, quite the ugliest thing ever to grace our wonderful PW. Is it a Diesel Loco, or a river barge?

It's the sort of plastic nonsense that Wooly Jumper would use on Virgin.
