looks like you've approached us about the possibility of sharing the valley (also approached millwall and gillingham but we must be the best option). we were approached by the creditors a while ago but this has come direct from the club so there's a good chance of it happening

would be nice to get the extra money in but it'll kill me to see palace badges up around the ground

Just when you think things cant get any worse

I would be very surprised if this happens though, as the club are likely to go 1 of 2 ways.  Either CPFC2010 are succesful in buying the ground and will be in charge next season, or the club fail to get out of administration and go under!
I dont see anyone putting in money for the club to go and groundshare somewhere.

the approach is apparently on the assumption that the takeover fails so nothing to do with cpfc2010

the only way I can really see it happening is if there's a last minute rescue package from fans with virtually no investment that can only be afforded with a groundshare

Things reallly appear to be coming to a head and there is the possibilty now that Crystal Palace Football Club are just 24 hours away from extinction.
For those interested the following statement has been released by the consortium trying to buy the club

http://www.cpfc.co.uk/page/News/0,,10323~2062318,00.html

There is also a protest taking place at the club at 3.00pm today.

What i find very difficult to understand is the lack of news coverage this story is getting - SSN read out the statement but that is as far as they go - this is a club with a 105 year history that is on the verge of going under but Mourinho joining Madrid, Beckford joining Everton, Ward getting the Colchester job, England's possible 23 squad for the World Cup and what was the best World Cup Song!!!!! all get a hell of a lot more coverage.
And as for the FA, well they really dont give a shit - if Palace were in the premiership there is no way they would let this happen.

It's even trickier these days compared to say 5 years ago as Bank of Scotland=part of HBOS which almost went bust and was bought by Lloyds Tsb which almost went bust and was bailed out by the government.

Two years on, BOS have no appetite for risk and are required to try and get cash back from their bad debts.

I hope it all works out in the next 48 hours

What happens if Palace go out of business? Will Wednesday get re instated? Will it have a chain effect on all the other leagues?

Nice one. Player sales all off or will they have to go anyway?

Player sales suspended for the moment - there is a news conference tomorrow which should confirm that CPFC 2010 are to fund the club as of now which will mean that no players will need to be sold.
David Jensen who is spokesperson for the consortium has said that both Ambrose and Speroni want to stay at the club.  If true that is great news.

There are however a number of players out of contract and obviously due to being in administration no new contracts were negotiated.  The likes of Derry, Hill, Ertl, Butterfield, Lawrence and Hills are all free to find other clubs if they want to.

Having just re-read this thread I am in amazement at the position we are in now.
We have decent level headed people in charge of the club.
McCarthy and Ambrose have both signed new contracts.
Speroni and Danns have been offered new deals which should be signed soon.
We have in my opinion a very good manager at this level (George Burley) who likes to play decent football.
The club now owns the ground.
We have not been held to ransom and forced to sell our youngsters for silly amounts (Clyne)
The future's bright, the future's NOT orange!!!

I have just had a fiver on them to get promoted at 18/1  Grin

Cant wait for the season to start next Saturday.

This is such a shame, I support Bristol city and I love the rivalry with you guys.

All the best.
