I don't actually understand what the issue was from that video. What was preventing them from turning towards Teterboro? Couldn't maintain engine power?

Guessing they gave up too much lift attempting to make the turn back to LaGuardia.

obv hudson is wise just dont understand the logic at all of turning around.

One of the first things you are taught is to look 25 degrees either side of the nose and pick a spot, you will never have enough lift to turn around after an "EFATO"

Look at his wiki, he's been instrumental in airline safety protocols.
