Doesn't it just always seem to be the case that when your down on your luck nothing seems to go your way. Just finished watching MOTD and thought Torres looked absolute class, attempted an overhead kick which he executed pretty much perfectly, hits the underside of the bar and Lampard gets a tap in, I kept watching him after Lampard had scored and you could just tell he was thinking ffs when will it end, reluctantly joining in the celebration. He then pulls off a great first touch and some nice skillz and should get a penalty but doesn't. Then to top it off instead of being awarded a stonewall penalty the ref books him for diving, so cold. It's always been something that I've been really interested in with how players deal with form and maintaining confidence when things are going bad, takes a huge amount of self belief to have confidence in yourself when nothing seems to be going your way.
Something that I mentioned in the pub last week with regards to Torres/Carroll; Surely it makes sense as a manager when there is a lot of pressure on a striker to score goals, let them take penalties ? Yet neither of Chelsea's managers with Torres or Dalglish thought to do this. Any goal as a striker gives you the confidence and the belief of starting a run, there both strikers thus are good at scoring goals so are capable of taking a penalty, ofc they could miss but still, seems daft not to for me.
+1
Me and Amafish watched the whole game and Torres was class. Poor sod. kinda...

Pleno gets some stick for some of his posts in the sports section but his comments the other day about Collocini where spot on
the words blind, squirrel and nuts spring to mind
if you claim that every player to have ever visited newcastle is the dog's bollocks odd are at some point one of them will turn out good

almost everytime HBA lost the ball today he won it back in seconds.
I was impressed with him today.
Seems Pardew was as well. I didn't think he had a bad game just his decision making was wrong quite a few times imo, think he could be sick good and hope he has a good run in the team to see what he can do. Just I was confused to why he wasn't being played but could kinda understand why after today.

Haha, yeah. Would you put him on penalties if you where the manager ?

I've got another viewing tmoro, another house share in Jesmond. I reckon this one might be the one, the place looks really smart and it's on a one month rolling contract, all of the others I've looked at have been a minimum of six months so this is definitely an added bonus incase I don't like living in a house share, can't see that being the case but still it's good to know I'm not tied into anything. Both the rooms are listed as double rooms so wont be a little box like yesterday. I've got the viewing for 1pm again as well so doesn't interupt with grinding.

Is this a level ?
http://uk.news.yahoo.com/gove-backs-royal-yacht-jubilee-005608955.html
I'm not really clued up on them but I've never been keen on the royal family. Neither of my parents have any views one way or the other that they've passed onto me but I've just always thought, what do they do ? I also cba with all this bollocks about how you have to approach the Queen and to speak to her in a certain way and all that palaver with regards to the posh buggers. I'm pretty certain the Queen doesn't do enough to warrant a £60million gift from the taxpayer, anyone actually think this is a good idea ? Seems absolutely absurd to me with all the cuts that are being made everywhere but lets give the Queen a yacht, she probably only has two for her own personal use so I guess she is in dire need tbf, fricking idiots.

How about they name a Football stand - or even Stadium - in her honour?
I can see it now, in the middle of Newcastle, "The QE2 Stadium", with the Toon Army all singing "God Bless Our Gracious Queen".
