btw, what happened to The Governor's 'bird'. Andrea i think? Did she get GG'd in season 2?

End of season 3, governer killed his lab monkey milton and left him to turn and kill andrea

I found that scene embarrassingly undramatic.

Guess I had better start with TWD then, so that I don't walk into a bunch of spoilers!

I've heard many times that Prison Break and Dexter are both amazing, but become shit in the later seasons. As they are both on Netflix I'm gonna give them a go - which series should I stop on for each?

Also gonna give SOA a whirl as I am about to finish the Wire.

I didn't get past season three of Dexter but enjoyed Prison Break throughout. Definitely the first series is best, but I'm glad I stuck with the whole story. You will recognise a pivotal character from TWD.

I mean up to about 5/6 with Dexter is okay. I enjoyed them all until the last one though.

Prison break season 1 is one of the best opening seasons I've ever seen. Does get shit, gets ok then shit again. Dexter gets very samey.

Wouldn't bother with Dexter beyond about series 4.  It was great until then and after that it is just a bit meh.   If you get that far you will probably watch it until the end though.....a bit like I will do with Homeland despite having sworn off it about ten posts back!!!

season 2 SOA is astonishing, one of the best things i've seen. season 3 is one of the worst. if I were you I'd read what happens on wikipedia and just miss that season out. you really won't miss a thing. After that it never gets as good as but its very watchable.

I gave up on prison break half way through season 1 and got through the whole of dex but it was a really tough grind tbh the last few seasons.

No love for arrow on this thread? For a cheap superhero series it's punching way above it's weight. Great backstory/arc thing with him stuck on an island learning his superskills (few nods and winks towards lost). Was a bit monster of the week in season 1 but it's settled down into a really fun show, same baddies as the batman films. I've had weeks where I've had BE, SOA and arrow sitting there waiting to be watched and arrow is the one I'm most excited to see.

Oh and for me watching the wire for the 2nd time with subtitles and reading the sepinwall recaps afterwards was just as if not more enjoyable than the first time I watched it.

Great TV is great innit Smiley

Agree with this.  Season 1 is pretty good, then it's all downhill with the odd episode that's pretty good.  It's all watchable, but it's not up there in my top ten by a long way.

Never seen Arrow, it didn't appeal to me for some reason, probably as I was watching too man other programs when it started to just missed it.

SOA is great, I've loved all of that.  Just flicking in there because no one has  mentioned it for an age now, have you seen Entourage Mr Shoelace?  I guess you have but if you haven't.........
