One of my all time favourite TV shows is Drop the Dead Donkey.

Total agreement with this Tal.

It's the number one show I wish I'd written. Stupid, really, as there are so many more successful programmes, but this was just a superb balance between cutting satire, silly humour, catchphrases, running stories and the sensitive stuff. A wonderful cast, too.

Really think it's a hugely underrated show.

Loved the episode where they all got drunk

And the episode where they played baseball

And the episode where the old guys long lost son turned up

And the one where George called Paxman a 'nob poo'

Joy doing Gladiators.

The office party

Dave and Princess Diana

The one where Daniel Craig plays a thug and Patsy Palmer his accomplice.

Too many good ones to name.

I used to live in the flat above Neil Pearson.

Another quality US series that is worth checking out is Rectify. It is only 6 episodes in but it is excellent. It is slow moving but the acting is top class and the characters are developing nicely. If Banshee is your thing then you will hate it, but I am really enjoying it.

Think I'm going to crack open the box sets again.

See if Peter Lillee has won the Slimy Git of the Week competition again.

DTDD is available on 4OD. Passed me by first time around. Bookmarked for idle times.

Your reminiscences about DTDD linked in any way to Haydn Gwynne popping up on Uncle?

Loved Damien, the Steven Tomkinson character and his faked sympathy shots. Did a lot of damage to the credibility of foreign/war correspondents that series.

No. I've not seen Uncle. Doesn't look my sort of thing.

The bit when they catch him out with the teddy bear that appears in every disaster zone is just bang on. "A reminder of the human cost of it all: a child's teddy bear..."

Neil Pearson plays poker but he doesn't want people to know. He won a package to the wsope the first year it happened but wore a hat and sunglasses the entire time. It was quite funny watching him knock around with a bunch of 21 year old betfair qualifiers like he had never been to London before.

Drop out unemployed musician looks after recovering addict sister's child and pretends to be his father in an attempt to win back his girlfriend (herself the daughter of a cross dressing owner of a Gay Club)?
How is that not your sort of thing?  Cheesy

Seriously, it has a touch of depth to it, and this week's episode includes Haydn Gwynne. You'll need to watch the earlier episodes first though.

I watched that Don't Look Down the other day.  I don't think I've ever been so nervous watching a program, genuinely had sweaty palms watching them hang off stuff, I clearly would be no good at it, not that I'd want too!

He was really good in Between The Lines , a series which was ahead of its time in its genre, with an outstanding cast and dark storyline.

Kevin Spacey plays a great part in this, in fact he's great in almost anything that I remember seeing him in.

My usual method of watching programs has let me down somewhat and I can't get hold of a couple of key episodes, could someone pm me a link where I may have a decent shout please?
