Loved Russell Tovey in Being Human but not really got into Him and Her.

I really enjoyed Being Human once I got into it, but lost interest at the end of Season 3 and couldn't get into Season 4.

Keep seeing TV Top 10's for the year at various sites I go to so thought I would give it a go.

10. Last Tango in Halifax - not finished yet so could still disappoint but just really nice drama and have thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it.

9. Dexter - I was starting to get a bit bored of Dexter but this season was relatively a return to form.  Once dexter would have been in my top 5 for sure but it is just going on a bit too long now.

8. Fresh Meat - funny and original and the second series was as good, if not better than the first.

7. Homeland - Was a contender for top three after the first series but the second series was nowhere near as good and, on its own, wouldn't have made the top ten.

6. Treme - I love this show so much.  It is a slow burner and it doesn't have much in the way of plot but the characters, music and way it is shot are just incredible.  I am an admitted total David Simon fanboy but this show is worthy.

5. Boardwalk Empire - Another very good season.

4. Game of Thrones - I read some of the books before series 2 aired because I loved series one so much.  I had almost zero interest in this kind of show before and would certainly never have read the books which basically go to show how great it is.

3. The Thick of it - As a politics student I never though I would ever see any satire as good as Yes Minister again but the Thick of It was as good.  The second to last episode was just stunningly good.  I watched a bit of Veep by the same people also and enjoyed that but haven't had time to finish it.

2. Breaking Bad - I had watched all of the previous series of BB and whilst I enjoyed it and it was was  beautifully shot it never really grabbed me but the back end of the last series and this series I have really started to see what the fuss is about.  The characters and their development have been quite stunning and whilst I am not sure if it will ever reach my favourites of all time it is getting close.

1. Mad Men - Mad Men is one of those shows that you can watch on more than one level.  It is enjoyable as drama and is incredibly well shot with well developed and complex and interesting characters but I really think it delivers when you put some work into it.  Every cultural reference means something and there are incredible themes to every episode which if you look closely at and do a bit of googling can improve your enjoyment of both the show and also can introduce you to a lot of incredible bits of culture that you might not have come across before.  This year alone it has caused me  read the poetry of Sylvia Plath, listen in more depth to the Beatles than I ever have before and get laughed at by my friends for spending an entire day of beer and football humming "Zou Bisou Bisou".  When the Wire finished I thought nothing could ever compare.  I think Mad Men is getting pretty close.

I have enjoyed Blue Bloods. It isn't the most cerebral and it is formulaic like most US Cop shows, but it is competently acted, sensitive and well directed.

Have yet to see the start of season 3 but am expecting more of the same.

In before you join me on the berated by millidonk list for liking this show.....

I'm a fan too, as you say it's predictable, but the characters are good and the little back stories with the characters work well too.

You also have the added bonus of Bridget Moynahan too!

I've not watched any of season 3 yet, but have all of the episodes waiting to go and will probably watch them over xmas.

Is there a site where I can watch streaming videos of Breaking Bad and Dexter without downloading the episodes or downloading a viewer?

Is that definite?  Agree a good thing.  Before this last season I would have said for sure it was done but this season was reasonable although not sure I loved the ending.  Has anyone ever put LaGuerta forward for Amatays thread?  Stunning ommission if not

Yeah, they have said that they already know how it's going to end too. They've had a good run and they're going to ruin things if they carry on much longer. That said, the ending has definitely left me scratching my head with regards to where they go next year.

La Guerta is incred, she was one of the main Characters in Oz too as a Dr that had a bit of a carry on with one of the inmates.
