At the other end of the scale, I love Storage Hunters...

but I'm having real trouble even tolerating the UK version?

Anyone taken to this, yet? DaveShoelace, I'm looking in your direction...

Seriously, Simon, they bid £1,500 with no idea on what they're looking at, then decide everything they've seen is worth "£2-300 no danger".

There's no Team Brandori research going on here.

Just finished season one of 'The Leftovers', and not sure what's going on Cheesy

I'll persevere, if only to find out what the deal is with the nutjobs that bowl around with notepads, chainsmoking...

I'm agreeing with you Tal, the UK one isn't as good.  I'm not sure where they get these values from and how does the US guy know the value of UK tat better than the people buying who are supposedly "in the trade"?  Some of the values are OK but most are just way out of touch.

I guess it's just OTT programming like we expect from the US version but it seems strange being over here with British accents.

This.

Also watching Madam Secretary, which has potential.  Needs to slow down a little though.

Sons of Anarchy might just be the best final season ever, and there are still 2 episodes to go!

The Fall. Jeez, what a programme

Amost needs to be a second watershed for the tension in this series!

I loved The Leftovers, despite some vast differences in quality of episodes (it would go amazing episode, meh episode, amazing episode, meh episode). It is based on a book, and the finale of the series is essentially the end of the book, so you know everything that the author wanted you to know.

It's not really a series where the point is to understand what's going on - it's not really about plot, but about how people deal with loss. It gets comparisons with Lost, because of the 'WTF is going on' vibe but Lost was supposed to all tie up nicely at the end (we were promised this by the writers back in season 1) but of course they were just making it all up as they went along and it fell apart, whereas The Leftovers isn't supposed to tie up nicely - it has, essentially, already finished so we have what we have.

Yep all this. Loved it and you are spot on.

Quite worrying that season 2 onwards is now in Damon Lindelof's hands from here on it though. I think he has learned his lessons from Lost though.

Roll on season2 then!

If 'The Leftovers' ends up being half as good as 'Lost', I'll be happy enough.
