This make my blood boil. Am I missing something here or am I simply a grumpy old man? Saw it only once and it nearly made me vomit.
NTA 2020 winner Best comedy - Mrs Brown's Boys
Lots of moans about this on the internets. Quite right, it's a farce. "Basicaly the type of comedy Ricky Gervais took the piss out of when he made Extras. Then it beats After Life to the NTA comedy award." I imagine the venn diagram of people who watch ITV, people who think it's worthwhile to vote in "peoples vote" awards ceremonies and fans of Mrs Browns Boys has quite a lot of overlap. I'd also speculate it overlaps a fair bit with fans of reality TV shows and Brexit voters as well but that's just incidental to the point

Binge-watched the second series of Sex Education on Netflix this week, and it's as good as the first one. Currently going through the sinking feeling of how long it will be for Season 3 to appear (currently being written).
Visually, it's stunning to watch, as the producers wanted to create a 'homage' to the 80s US coming of age films like The Breakfast Club. Its confusing as hell to begin with, as all the fashions and vehicles are 80's vintage, but yet everyone has mobile phones. Loved seeing some of the classic vehicles being used as the story progresses.
Well worth a watch for anyone who hasn't yet seen it, and fans of series 1 won't be disappointed by the follow up.

I am sure it is great and all that, and will plenty of other awards. Why get angry though, if Ricky Gervais cared, he'd put it on the BBC? Though I dare say Mrs Brown's Boys viewers would be more likely to vote even if the number of viewers were the same.

True.
Not seen After Life and watched about 3mins of Mrs Brown's Boys.
BBC comedy died when Lorraine Heggessey took over.
The NTA give the awards to the same suspects every year. Ant & Dec, This Morning, IACGMOOH. Incred.

I’m not sure it will be everyone’s cup of tea but watched all 3 series of Detectorists over the last few weeks and loved it. A lovely slow paced comedy that’s really well written by Mckenzie Crook who co stars in it with Toby Jones.
Just saw it gets a rating of 8.6 on IMDB so I’ve probably done it a disservice by assuming it’s not everyone’s cup of tea tbh.

Channel 4/Sky catch up.
Auschwitz Untold: In Colour.
No fajitas, half a slice of rock-hard black bread and some tainted water.
Don't miss it.

The only boxset I've ever watched in its entirety, thought it was brilliant. The main bloke was on Graham Norton the other week, I knew he was Welsh but his accent was still a wtaf moment...

Anyone watching the 'Richard Hammond's Big' series?
The Volkswagen factory is gobsmacking. (It could have been astonishing but Doobs pinched my word)
