weather in london was amazing today
how was your solider thing?
(apologies for thread hijack but the hot choc diary seems to have died)
it was awesome. I got a medal, gonna get another one tomorrow if I get up for me run. I'll throw some pics up on fb tomorrow but basic summary of what we did
-ran around old eurostar terminal at waterloo, pretty cool as it's basically now just a huge abandoned train station, half of it in darkness which was a bit spooky. went on the old track on the roof, weren't supposed to but we got a bit lost
-treasure hunt thingy on hms belfast, can't believe how lost it's possible to get on a boat
-inflatable assault course in moat at tower of london
-climbed big slippery wall outside st paul's
-climbed cargo nets slung over the giant artillery guns outside imperial war museum
-went in trenches exhibit in imp. war museum, not really sure why though
-boris biking in an abandoned car park
-paintball in waterloo station
-indoor climbing wall
-abseiling down the oval
think that just about covers it. lots of running in between means I'm very achy and not at all prepared for the 10k run I've gotta do in 7 hours
Treasure hunt sounds well cool. Biking - yeah...I'd do that. Slippery wall - maybe. Net climbing - possibly. The rest sounds too painful. Feck that says I. But kudos to the organisers for the treasure hunt bit.
Good luck with the 10k run. lol

it all sounds good apart from the running in between bits

I've said it to anyone who ever brings up the topic, but going to post it here for good measure. Can't stand funerals. Just can't. Rule is, 'If I don't know, I don't go'. Granted, if it's relation of someone close to me, I'll go.
So with that said, this is what I want if I kick it. Just need to ring Bulmers to confirm.
I'm to be cremated and shoved in a jumbo cider bottle (hence the Bulmers confirmation). They can do what they like for the ceremony, but it damn well better involve one hell of a disco followed by an all night mega house party. At any time after 6am, I expect the gang of pissheads to carry me to the local river and send me floating. Would have said the ocean (an hour away) but can't think of anyone who would be minus drink to get us there. Being realistic and all, the river will do. They can walk there to get the job done.
And I swear I'll haunt the feckers of they don't follow those instructions.

Hmmmmm....how to start? Suppose there's no feck arsing around really. I'm nervous. Thought the only thing ever got to me was heights (and they well and truly get me), but turns out they aren't the only thing.
Cancer. It's a big bad six letter word. I've already been down that road twice and beat it, but how many times do you hit it before mother nature tells ya to feck off? I'm being tested again on Wednesday for a third round of it. Marv. The tests they're going to put me through basically suck and I'm totally not looking forward to it.
But then I sit back and think of Reece. And how dare I complain.

Cheers all. xx
Was a bit of a hop getting a 3 page letter in the post from the doc. I'd no idea that's what I was being screened for because the GP kept that bit quiet when I was with her. After a couple of days getting used to the idea, I'm not actually afraid of the results to be honest. Managed to beat it before and it's not the end of the world if I have to do it again. I've just been a wimp about the tests. Such a bloke sometimes. lol

Probably better off posting this in Tikay's diary as more people would see it, but gonna do it here anyway. Woodsey posted a well cool video. He's always at it posting random cool links to stuff. Not sure how he finds them all, but anyway. Check this out when ya have a spare five minutes...

Reckon he should start a thread of his own with all the things he finds on the net. Would be a good 'un.

WARNING - Possibly not for the squeamish!!!
Well, that was
interesting
. Got to see some of me insides right up on the telly. Went where they could without knocking me out and all was crystal clear. This is most excellent news in that at least half of me is grand.
Unfortunately their wee camera could only go so far. Not long enough to do a full scope apparently. Pity. Kinda figured as I was handling it so well, they'd just carry on and do the lot. She may have been joking, but when I said that to the tech Chick, she laughed and replied "You've been so calm, I wouldn't hesitate to carry on if I had the right equipment." Marv.
Ah well. They want me back again for a full jobbie as they couldn't find any problems in the 'half' version. Must drink some thing or other the day before. Least that's what I think she said. They're sending me an instructions letter for the drink along with the next appointment date in the post.
When's the next appointment? Initially I was told in the next two to three weeks. Quick run of dates in me head, "I was hoping to go to Newcastle from the 21st of April for a few days. Don't suppose that's still possible?"
"We'll make it possible. Book your trip and I'll sort your appointment for right after you get back."
wiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii - APAT Newcastle...here I come!!! No point sitting round stewing about things when I can get out and have a laugh with friends.
At least now I'm not worried about the next round of tests as I know what to expect. Mo was bang on. It's uncomfortable, but doesn't hurt as such. Results are a thing of nothing now. I've it in me head everything's going to be ok...and that's half the battle won right there.

That's the one. Rumour has it, it's yucky. But I've the constitution of an ox so yucky shouldn't be too much trouble.
