Poulter i played when he was very young i think he was 13 or so i was a bit older we played a foursomes match i remember him being very good at such a young age his partner really let him down though so we won handily he was a bit flash not to the extent he is now though. I remember telling one of the selectors that i thought he would be a really good player but they said that they werent interested because they knew he would turn pro the day he turned 16 which he did, his brother Danny was one of the top assistant pro's in Hertfordshire at the time so they figured it was inevitable that Ian would follow in his footsteps. that was the only time i played with him though. played more with Brian and also Sammy Little and his brother Jamie who turned out pretty good too.

Didnt see the press conference flushy no was he asked any awkward questions ? his state of mind would worry me if i had a bet on him he gets a lot of his edge in this department but his lack of tournament preperation would worry me more still i guess thats built into the price. looking forward to thursday will be interesting to say the least.
He looked mentally sharp, very fresh and says he is enjoying golf for the first time in years, pretty good signs.

My initial thoughts were that 9-2 was probably value about him in this field wherethere are only 60 odd players of which 10-15 cannot win but tonight I listened on the radio to a golf journalist who watched his practise round today and said he played dreadfully so if anything I think I would rather be against. Apparently on two holes he shanked the ball so badly he had to retake his teeshot which doesn't augur too well.

5/1 nearly disappeared but can still get it with Stan James and Bet365 if you go to the "enhanced win only" market.

He is my 'best losing result' now, if that makes sense, so I will no doubt be in a possie to trade him back into favour should he be playing well, either way mate I hope you get a good run for your £4k and how can I be too against him now when you got him as a 20k winner?
Would you look to trade some away if he gets short, just play it as you feel , or just let it ride?
