7 players left. Hero is Chipleader with 160k stack. Blinds are at 1500-3000 ante of 300.

UTG Opens to 9k. He is 2nd in chips with a stack size of 110k

UTG is a tight aggressive player and hasn't been opening under the gun light.

Hero is in the BB with  - Thoughts on flatting or 3-betting this deep with 7 players left?

My intentions were to keep the pot small as possible, as I felt there were easier spots on the table rather than locking horns with the other CL.

I decide to flat the 9k.

Flop comes      three diamonds

Hero Checks

Villain Bets 15k

Hero Calls

Thoughts on the call? Check-raise is possible for value against weaker aces, but again I wanted to keep the pot small and also didn't want him to fold bluffs.

Turn

Hero Checks again.

Villain bets 30k

Hero?

Villain has put around half his stack in.

Is this a fold. Can Villain ever be bluffing here if he puts us on a Queen? What do you figure Villain for?

Whats your next move? If we call here are we calling a river shove?

weird hand because you flat pre.

you have an under repped hand but if you c/r you start to over rep what you actually have.

another problem is by playing the hand so passively we probably lose value from hands that would otherwise go broke to us, for example if you check/call the turn and check river he will check back Ax alot.

c/r the flop is probs your best line once you've flatted pre because he can stack off light here

personally i would just 3b/call pre, apply the pressure to the shorter stack yo!

failing that just fold pre

Yeah agree with 3-bet/call line preflop

Pretty gross spot on the turn. I guess calling is the way forward otherwise we get rid of any potential bluffs and snapped off by anything beating us. Don't see how we can fold although AQ/QQ obviously possible, but with our hand being so under-repped I think we must continue...

I think it's important to know what your image is like and how villain has played through the streets up to now. I like how you've approached the hand though.

Surely villian will double barrell weaker hands here a lot because of the flat pre? I like calling here and then check/calling river. If we miss some value from weak Ax hands then so be it.

Yup.

If you play this hand passively pre there's no point going nuts down the streets.

How often is villain going to bet worse on the river when we've called twice and will be getting 3:1? I'd kind of want to call turn and fold river, though I'd kind of not want to do that too.

i think this has to be a fold, u shud never be risking too much when your sat so comfortably with just 1 pair.  fold and wait for better opportunities.

Villain is Colin Wu BTW. 1st time I had played him, seemed very active but tight and aggro.
