I will say it because I don't expect anyone else will.
I think it was out of order to take advantage of the guys obvious lack of knowledge and vulnerability in taking the seat off him for €350 and 10%.
I know people will say it's a cut-throat world and all that but just because the guy didn't know any better doesn't make it ok to steam in and totally exploit him.
Punters Lounge must be a trainwreck of a forum,i'd have thought any moderators there would have at least made the guy aware of the kind of money he could ask for for the ticket.
Glad he gets a bit more due to you getting a good score in it at least, but he shouldn't have had to rely on you binking to see that kind of return.
/pissing on your parade
Nah that's cool man. I appreciate your opinion.
I think it's one of those where we'll have to agree to disagree. He knows the value of the seat and was going to give it away.
Aside of the 10% he got, (could have just as easily been zilch) he got 350 more than initiailly anticipated.
I don't see why I should turn around and say to a 21 year old guy, you should sell it for more. Truth be told I probably would have had to pass it up if he was wanting 2k for it.

Before making the comments some of you have made I think you should have taken into account that the Romanian student who is a member of Punters Lounge is quite capable of reading English and may see these posts on your forum. He may well have let his seat go for less than he might have got but for some of you to then insult him is a bit rich IMHO.

i don't disagree but think you will find that it becomes common, especially with the internet. similar to the word moron years ago?

Thankyou for this.
"It may still be objected that
moron parents are likely to have imbecile or idiot children
. There is not much evidence that this is the case. The danger is probably negligible."
I really lol'd at this. I didn't realise that these terms actually had an IQ value attached to them. What a fantastic idea!!
This being the case I can't see how being called one of these terms could be deemed as an insult or indeed offensive as it's either true or false.
If I were to call someone with an IQ of 51 an imbecile he could just laugh in my face at my foolishness as he was in fact a moron. How silly would I look?!?!?
Seriously though imagine saying that sentence and actually meaning it, the bit in bold type I mean. Wow. You'd have to be pretty sick to say that.
I can however see the funny side of it as well but I guess that comes from years of watching Southpark.

I knew they were all originally used as just purely descriptive terms, it highlights the irrationality of only
strongly
objecting to one of them. In theory if you were going to ban only one of them it should be 'idiot' as this is the most insulting.

Can we drop the word 'retarded'? This isn't America, and it's a word we'd prefer not used on blonde.
Thanks.
this is possibly the thing that confuses me most on blonde, the bizzarre singling out of one word as unacceptable
yeh its pretty (edit by mod) stupid
lol can't even make jokes round here

TBF the guy didn't lack knowledge and vunerability what he lacked was time. He was prepared to go to Dublin but a couple of days before he had problems that prevented him going. When he contacted Paddy they said he had until Wednesday morning to do the transfer which gave him a day to find a buyer. Also any buyer was on short notice to arrange flights, accomm etc.
On top of this the guy had expenses in his package that he kept and he was given
more
than the deal he originally wanted, everyone was happy, so whats the problem?

Well this certainly paints a better picture than the op,if there was these time constraints then fair enough,I blame Cos for trying to over-dramatise the story in the op personally.
Oh and wp,nice score.
