Suzanne, sounds to me like it is just bad "form" you are experiencing. It happens to all of us.

I played a two SNG's the other night. In the first, I never won a single hand, I got murdered. In the next, I hit EVERY flop, outdrew the guy time after time, never lost a hand. I played the same both games. That's just "luck", "variance", "poker", thats just the way it goes.

Lord Wernick has made 15 Ranking Finals in 2005. In 2004, he made, wait for it, ONE. Same guy, just "Form".

Dave Colclough has been battered to a pulp in comps this year. Last year, he did great, & he will next year. He was Chip Leader with 12 left at Brighton yesterday, but exited 10th, without making a mistake. These days happen to all of us.

Stay strong Suzanne.

Keep going. I was gutted last night, got down to the last 17 in the Betfair £3k added (1st paid 2k), with 498 runners, then I re-raised all-in with AK and one of their sponsored pro's, Ben Grundy called me with KQoff for almost half his stack! I thought that was an awful call considering I could only have AA, KK, QQ or AK. Of course, he hit two Q's and went on and won the event.

Most of the time, you'll lose because of luck, and nothing more. In the long term it evens itself out, (I keep telling myself that anyway).

tony g got it spot on in his poker 425 profile, he said "the future of poker is on the internet" where there are no expences, and try and win seats to main events to have your shot at a life-changing result!!  all these poker playing well known pros.... no wonder they go broke paying god-knows how much a night for a hotel room and eating in the fanciest restaurants in town------ just to fill their ego trip.

Hi Suzanne,

Good luck Suzanne, I think the small stakes on line idea is good and the odd live charity event to build experience and where you can also collect the drinks you are owed :-)

Keep going Suzanne.  I don't know if the advice is any good - but when I have been feeling like you I have taken a break - for at least 2 weeks or upto a month and generally come back refreshed, a little more aggressive and more observant at the tables - and some success.

I'm still with you and Robert in the 85% this year after a small profit last year - but generally still enjoy it and the ocasional big win has meant this year I've experienced laods of new things...Spearmint Rhino in Vegas etc  Cool

And the beats happen - the hands you described are just bad luck - I thought get out of jail for the whole year last night when 6th 83 in 100k on Prima and ran into 4th when holding AK - last to act and running into a pp in the BB.....it doesn't make you feel any less s*** though!!

Good luck

I hope to see you at next p4c to claim that drink nirvana :-) Thx for words of encouragement claypole. Played in VC $2 mtt earlier (dont you love those games) and was doing ok, into last 60 when... disaster..total pc crash..took me 90mins to get back online which surprise surprise..blinded out. Never mind, I get connected eventually and a very nice young man charms me for a bit boosting my confidence :-) Played a couple of stts and nowt. I try to make a point of winning my last game which will send me to bed on a high note (even though usually out of pocket) so Im concentrating big time, determined to be in the $$. Im going great...chip leader by miles...when 17yr old son decides to tell me all about the "funniest thing EVER that happened to him today" whilst making popcorn...enough said. Tomorrow is another day  Smiley

If things get too bad just do this:-
