i thought we were mostly good, attacking potential is clear.

Really? I thought England dominated a game against an incredibly poor USA but didn't create an awful lot.
They obviously have decent players going forward but if Rooney can't do anything against the USA he will really struggle against a decent side. He spent more time in midfield than he did in front of goal FFS.
I know noone is quacking in their boots after having watched England play and, if they play like this, a decent team will slaughter them.

Loved all the commentators talking bollocks about "not losing the first game"...if you're happy not to lose the first game against a weak side like the USA were on Saturday you should go play hockey.

I'm not really fussed if other countries aren't worried about us. I don't expect us to win it but i think we can improve and i'd rather we built as the tournament progresses and with a bit of luck peak at the final.
When Italy drew 1-1 with the USA or France drew with Switzerland and South Korea and only qualified through their group in 2nd 4 years ago i don't think the rest of the world had them nailed on as finalists.
Just get through the group and then see what happens.

Pretty much all our attacking players had a decent chance on goal apart from rooney and lampard strangely, all created from good moves or good individual skill. They are all good enough to score (apart from heskey). One good spanking against slovenia or algeria to get confidence up and i think we will be scoring for fun. Get gazza bazza in to make it all flow well in the middle and we will be extremely dangerous to any side.

My only worry is not getting barry back and having to play carrick who is good but low on conifdence and out of form, wish scholes was there. Then i think we really would struggle against an argentina or spain.

Green trained yesterday saving 300 shots and not letting ANY in.

Today, him and Heskey will train with the rest of the team.

I hope Heskey plays and I think he will. If anything Capello has proved during his management he won't make populist decisions. As the general public at large haven't got a fking clue, Heskey being a great example of this.

Heskey suits Rooney? Man U form shows playing as the main striker suits him as well. Drop Gerrard in behind and we have a truly world class attack. Gerrard is technically better than Heskey and is much more prolific in front of goal. Heskey offers zero goal threat and that's just not good enough at world level for a striker. Gerrard might not have the aerial skills, but do we really need to be lumping it up to a big man in these group games? We prob wont persist with 4-4-2 against the better sides anyway, and I don't want to see Gerrard wide left to accomodate Heskey to suit Rooney. Joe Cole left imo. Heskey did a good job vs USA but I want mofo goals from England's main striker. Martin O'Neill knows about football, and he wasn't playing Heskey at club level.
